11. Summary of the new findings of the thesis
Firstly, the thesis has systematized the theoretical basis of risk management in general and researched the development of a theoretical framework for risk management in archiving.
Secondly, based on the theoretical framework of risk management in archiving, the thesis surveyed and evaluated the current state of risk management activities in archiving at Vietnamese archiving agencies and organizations, thereby providing observations and assessments.
Thirdly, applying the research methodology of risk management theory, the thesis has identified and clarified the types of risks that occur causing damage and losses in storage in Vietnam; and analyzed and clarified the factors that increase risks in storage.
Fourth, the thesis applied a quantitative method to measure the impact of risks (RRs) and factors that increase RR, which cause damage and loss in archiving. The database used was based on a survey of 27 archiving agencies and organizations from the central to local levels, with 320 responses from archiving staff.
Fifthly, based on the clarified content, the thesis proposes risk management solutions in archiving. The proposed solutions include two groups: professional solutions and organizational and management solutions.
12. Practical applications:
The solutions proposed in this thesis will be useful suggestions for archival agencies and organizations in Vietnam towards safe management, effective prevention, and timely remediation of unfortunate incidents and events that cause unwanted losses and damages in archiving.
13. Future research directions:
Firstly: Research and develop criteria for assessing and measuring risks to create a list of potential risks in archival institutions and organizations in Vietnam.
Secondly: Research solutions for managing risks for other types of archival materials such as electronic archives, films, photographs, audio recordings, etc.
Thirdly: Research and refine specific technical measures and solutions to enhance the effectiveness of the risk prevention process.
Fourthly: Research and develop a manual on responding to archival risks in Vietnam to assist archival agencies and organizations in issuing such a manual.

Northeast, based on the theoretical framework of risk management in archives, this Thesis has examined and evaluated the current practice of risk management activities in archives at the Vietnamese archival organizations and given some evaluation comments.

- Firstly, to study, formulate and perfect the criteria for risk assessment and measurement so as to draw up lists of risks in archives in Vietnam.
- Secondly, to research solutions to risk management for other types of archives such as electronic and audio-visual archive
- Thirdly, to study and complete specific measures and techniques in order to bring into full play the efficiency of the risk prevention process
- Fourthly, research to create handbooks to cope with risks in archival organizations.
