+ This dissertation provides insights into a banking model built according to the standards of a modern banking system, situated within a market economy and with significant integration into the international economy, including factors such as foreign aid, the impact of war, and the economic relations of the Republic of Vietnam with other countries. The dissertation serves as a valuable reference for managers in the current phase of building a market economy and reforming the banking system.

+ This thesis provides a relatively comprehensive and systematic overview of the banking system in South Vietnam, from its formation, organizational structure, and operational content to its role and position within the broader context of the financial and banking landscape in Saigon before 1975, as an important part of Vietnam's economic history.

The thesis highlights the prominent characteristics and significant importance of the banking system and its financial functions for the market economy and the economic development of South Vietnam, as well as its limitations.

+ This dissertation contributes to supplementing and enriching the source materials from various perspectives in teaching, researching, and summarizing Vietnamese history in general and the economic history of Vietnam during the period 1954-1975 in particular.

10. Summary of the new findings of the thesis:

This thesis provides new insights on a banking model built in accordance with modern banking standards, in the context of a market economy deeply integrated into the global market, large inflows of foreign aids, the Vietnam War and strong economic ties between the Republic of Vietnam and other countries. The thesis thus will be a reference to policy-makers in the efforts to develop the market economy and reform the banking system of Vietnam today.

The thesis provides a comprehensive view of the financial and banking system in the south of Vietnam, focusing on the follow key aspects: the process of development, framework of organization, operations, role and position of the banking system in the economy from 1954 to 1975, one of the most important parts of the economic history of South Vietnam.

This thesis highlights key features of the banking system and its financial functions in the market economy and economic growth of South Vietnam in that period, as well as many concerns still remaining in the banking system in the period in question.

This thesis contributes to enriching the scholarly literature for the teaching and study of the history of Vietnam in general and the economic history of Vietnam in the period between 1954 and 1975 in particular.

The results of this study can be used to inform the organization and management of banking institutions and activities in present-day Vietnam.

I plan to use this thesis as the foundation to pursue further research on the socio-economic history of South Vietnam in the period 1954-1975.
