Firstly, the thesis studies and points out the poetic characteristics of G. Marquez's novels, which are also typical characteristics of 20th century Latin American novels.
Second, the thesis applies genre poetics theory, postmodern literature theory and narrative theory to the study of a typical phenomenon of world literature.
Third, the thesis provides new, systematic information and places G. Marquez's works in the correct Latin American cultural environment.
Finally, the thesis contributes to identifying Latin American magical realism in world literature.
