- The thesis has identified the current status of voluntary social insurance participation of informal sector workers in terms of scale, needs, aspirations, participation method selection, contribution level, and voluntary social insurance contribution period.

- Point out some factors affecting the level of participation in voluntary social insurance of workers in the informal sector, which are subjective factors from the workers such as: socio-demographic characteristics, workers' awareness, living conditions, housing, income and expenditure; Second is the policy institution; Third is the communication factor about voluntary social insurance.

- Propose recommendations to increase voluntary social insurance participation of informal sector workers to ensure social security for workers when they reach retirement age.

12. Practical application

The thesis contributes an overview of empirical research on social security and voluntary social insurance. The scientific and practical arguments of this study provide more practical evidence to improve policies and promote communication activities to raise awareness for workers in the informal sector; At the same time, it can be used as a reference for research and teaching on social security and voluntary social insurance.
