The thesis examines the theoretical and practical basis for analyzing US policy towards allies to clarify the US strategy in building an alliance system in East Asia during the Obama administration (2009-2016).
The thesis analyzes the core issues of the goals, contents and implementation process of US policy towards East Asian allies during the two terms of President B. Obama. The thesis focuses on in-depth analysis of US policy towards South Korea as a typical case study of US alliance policy in East Asia.
Based on the assessment of the results and limitations in the implementation of the Obama administration's policy towards East Asian allies, the thesis draws out the characteristics of the US policy towards East Asian allies during this period. The thesis also clarifies the continuity and adjustment in the US policy towards allies in East Asia after 2016.
12. Practical application:
Scientifically, the thesis can be used as a reference for teaching and scientific research on international relations and US foreign policy. Practically, forecasting the impacts of changes and adjustments in the US alliance policy with South Korea in particular and East Asian allies in general on international relations in the region, including Vietnam, are useful references contributing to the planning of foreign policies of diplomatic agencies and relevant agencies.

The thesis focuses on in-depth analysis of the U.S.'s policy towards Korea as a case study of its ally policy in East Asia.
On the basis of the assessment of the results and limitations in the process of implementing the policy towards allies in East Asia during the Obama administration, the thesis highlights the main characteristics of the U.S.'s policy allies in East Asia during this period. The thesis also clarifies the continuation and adjustment in the U.S.'s policies towards allies in East Asia after 2016.

In terms of science, the thesis can be used as a reference for teaching and doing scientific research on international relations and the U.S.'s foreign policy.
