Summary of the thesis results: Topic "Marriage customs of ethnic groups across the Vietnam - China border" has somewhat generalized the issue of marriage of ethnic minorities represented by the Nung (Vietnam) - Choang (China); Dao (Vietnam) - Dao (China) groups. First, the thesis has partly clarified what is a cross-border ethnic group? What are marriage customs? What are the characteristics to identify cross-border ethnic groups and marriage customs? The thesis uses these "standards" as "references" to study the marriage customs of the Vietnam - China cross-border ethnic groups. Analyzing marriage customs, the thesis focuses on two ethnic groups, Nung - Choang and Dao - Dao, with characteristics of: marriage age, scope of intermarriage, marriage age, principles of residence in marriage and wedding ceremony rituals. These analyses are placed in a comparison between ethnic groups to create a relatively complete picture of the marriage customs of the Vietnam - China cross-border ethnic groups.
