The author researched the theory of social media communication and journalism, and conducted a survey of the current state of social media use among 55 local and national journalists across all four media types: television, radio, online, and print, in June 2021. The thesis revealed the current state of social media use among Vietnamese journalists, including its purpose, methods of use, and information exploitation. Based on this, the author proposed solutions to overcome difficulties and limitations, aiming to improve the skills of Vietnamese journalists in using and exploiting social media today.
11. Practical applications: This thesis clarifies the current state of social media usage and exploitation by Vietnamese journalists. From this, media managers, newsrooms, and journalists themselves can draw lessons and experiences for their organizations and themselves in using social media.
