It is a great honor and source of pride at this Anniversary Ceremony that Professor Inagaki Tsutomu, a visiting professor from Rikkyo University (Japan), was awarded the "For the Development of VNU" commemorative medal by the Director of VNU.
Since the early 2000s, Professor Inagaki Tsutomu, then Dean of the School of Tourism at Rikkyo University, Japan, has made efforts to promote cooperation in training and research between the School of Tourism, Rikkyo University, Japan, and the Faculty of Tourism Studies, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi. From this period until 2015, Professor Inagaki visited Vietnam several times and, through his position, helped to strengthen the relationship between the two sides through exchange programs for lecturers, students, trainees, and doctoral researchers.

Since August 2016, the Faculty of Tourism Studies has been fortunate to welcome Professor Inagaki Tsutomu from Rikkyo University (Japan) as a volunteer lecturer. Professor Inagaki has made significant contributions to the teaching, scientific research, and international cooperation activities of the Faculty of Tourism Studies and the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi.
Professor Inagaki Tsutomu participates in supporting the professional development of young faculty members of the Department, and also gives lectures to graduate students on topics such as Tourism Human Resource Management, Tourism Scientific Research Methods, Creative Tourism, etc.
During his time at the Faculty, Professor Inagaki Tsutomu also published 5 articles in prestigious international journals and was listed as a visiting lecturer at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi. In addition, the Professor assisted the Faculty in organizing international scientific conferences and seminars, and solicited partners to co-organize international conferences and seminars.
The professor also serves as a bridge for short-term training programs, cooperation programs, and faculty and student exchanges between the Faculty and the University with Rikkyo University, Yamanashi University, Hitostubashi University, and Kumamoto University. Every year, Rikkyo University awards scholarships to 10-15 students from the Faculty of Tourism Studies, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, for short-term study at the University (duration from 2 weeks to 12 months).
Through his contributions, Professor Inagaki has helped to enhance the quality, prestige, and image of the Faculty of Tourism Studies, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, not only in Vietnam but also in the eyes of international friends, especially Japanese partners.
On this special occasion, Professor Detlef Briesen, a visiting professor from Justus Liebig Giessen University (Germany), was also honored and awarded the commemorative medal "For the Development of Vietnam National University, Hanoi".
