It is an honor and pride in this Anniversary Ceremony that Prof. Inagaki Tsutomu - Visiting Professor from Rikkyo University (Japan) was signed by the President of VNU and awarded the Medal "For the Development of VNU".
Since the early 2000s, Professor Inagaki Tsutomu, then the Principal of the School of Tourism, Rikkyo University, Japan, has made efforts to promote the relationship and cooperation in training and research between the School of Tourism, Rikkyo University, Japan and the Faculty of Tourism Studies, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU. During this period until 2015, Professor Inagaki visited Vietnam many times and, with his position, helped the relationship between the two sides become increasingly sustainable through exchange programs for lecturers, students, trainees, and doctoral students.

Since August 2016, the Faculty of Tourism Studies has been fortunate to have received Prof. Inagaki Tsutomu, Rikkyo University (Japan) as a volunteer lecturer at the Faculty under the visiting lecturer program. Prof. Inagaki has made many contributions to the teaching, scientific research and international cooperation activities of the Faculty of Tourism Studies and the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU.
Prof. Inagaki Tsutomu participates in supporting professional development for young lecturers of the Faculty, and also participates in giving talks to graduate students on Tourism Human Resource Management, Tourism Scientific Research Methods, Creative Tourism, etc.
During his time working at the Faculty, Prof. Inagaki Tsutomu has also published 05 articles in prestigious international journals, as a visiting lecturer at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU. In addition, the Professor also supports the Faculty in organizing international scientific seminars and conferences, calling on partners to co-organize international seminars and conferences.
The Professor is also a bridge for short-term training programs, cooperation programs, and exchange of lecturers and students between the Faculty, the School and Rikkyo University, Yamanashi University, Hitostubashi University, and Kumamoto University. Every year, Rikkyo University awards scholarships to 10-15 students from the Faculty of Tourism Studies, University of Social Sciences and Humanities to study short-term at the School (from 2 weeks to 12 months).
With his contributions, Prof. Inagaki has contributed to improving the quality, position and image of the Faculty of Tourism Studies, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU, not only in Vietnam, but also in the eyes of international friends, especially Japanese partners.
On this special occasion, Prof. Detlef Briesen - Visiting Professor from Justus Liebig Giessen University (Germany) was also honored and awarded the medal "For the Development of VNU".
