Speaking at the meeting, Rector Hoang Anh Tuan extended a warm welcome and expressed his deep gratitude to all visiting professors and scientists who have collaborated with and supported the University throughout the past period. He also affirmed that the University is extremely pleased to welcome 40 professors and researchers from major universities around the world for visiting lectures, academic exchange, and scientific research – the highest number ever. This demonstrates the University's growing scientific prestige, which is increasingly recognized by universities, educational organizations, and scholars in the region and around the world.

Rector Hoang Anh Tuan also shared the achievements in training and scientific research of the University in recent years. He particularly emphasized that the University of Social Sciences and Humanities is proud to be a leading training and research institution in the field of social sciences and humanities in Vietnam, with a highly qualified faculty and scientists: 75% of the staff hold doctoral degrees or higher, of which nearly 25% hold the titles of Professor or Associate Professor; many scientists are leading experts in various fields, with scientific prestige both domestically and internationally.
Currently, the university offers 28 undergraduate programs, 30 master's programs, and 36 doctoral programs. During the annual admissions period, the university's programs attract significant interest from applicants nationwide, resulting in the highest entrance scores in the country, especially for some "hot" majors such as Journalism, Public Relations, Oriental Studies, International Studies, and Psychology. This ensures that we can recruit the highest quality students.
In our training program, in addition to expanding some disciplines to meet the needs of the modern labor market, following new trends and application-oriented approaches, we still maintain and develop the basic sciences that are the strengths and trademarks of the School: History, Linguistics, Philosophy, and Literature.
Besides the achievements already made, Rector Hoang Anh Tuan also shared the major difficulties and challenges the school will face in the coming time. These include issues related to innovation and restructuring of training programs, both improving quality to meet societal needs and keeping pace with the constantly changing labor market. At the same time, the school must maintain its core academic disciplines, strengths, and academic traditions.
To fulfill our mission of becoming a high-quality, internationally integrated research university with a leading position in the region and the world, we mobilize and utilize domestic resources to the fullest extent, while always valuing the participation and contributions of numerous leading professors, experts, and researchers from countries around the world.
Over the years, the University has implemented numerous policies to attract and facilitate professors and researchers from many countries, including the United States, Germany, France, the Netherlands, Australia, Japan, South Korea, and Thailand, to teach, conduct scientific research, and participate in international scientific conferences. Simultaneously, it has supported departments in guiding students and trainees in research, international publications, and the publication of scientific works. The professors and scientists attending today's meeting have truly become close and trusted mentors and friends to the lecturers, trainees, and students in the departments of Oriental Studies, Tourism Studies, History, Linguistics, International Studies, and Anthropology.
Respecting the insights shared by Professor and Rector Hoang Anh Tuan, the visiting professors and international scientists attending the meeting all highly appreciated the warm and thoughtful reception and the very professional cooperation extended to the scientists working at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, and affirmed their desire to continue working with the faculty and the university in the future.
Professor Detlef Briesen (from Justus Liebig Giessen University (Germany)) shared:
I have had a long-term collaboration with leading professors and researchers in Vietnam at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and have implemented many projects and published valuable scientific works, most notably:Vietnam National ReportWe cover a wide range of issues: culture, history, economics, society, etc. In the future, we will continue to research, publish, and internationally disseminate information on the future of careers, the shift in the Vietnamese labor market, and women's rights, etc. I hope that our research will help students, researchers, and lecturers of the university improve their skills and access the latest research methods in the field of social sciences and humanities."
Professor Inagaki Tsutomu (Japan) expressed his willingness to support graduate students in participating in research projects and co-authoring international publications as a faculty member of the University. At the same time, Professor Inagaki Tsutomu will support strengthening the University's connections with universities and research institutions in Japan to jointly conduct student and faculty exchange programs or participate in research projects in Vietnam and Japan.
Professor Inagaki Tsutomu (Visiting Professor, a very close friend of the Faculty of Tourism Studies since 2017, former Head of the Faculty of Tourism, Rikkyo University, Japan) spoke at the meeting.Ms. Maeda Ayumi shared: "Although I've only been in Vietnam for a few months, I've already grown very fond of your country. Especially when I visited the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, I received a very warm welcome. I hope to have effective cooperation in training and scientific research activities with the University in the future."
Ms. Maeda Ayumi (Volunteer lecturer from JICA (Japan)) expressed her joy and desire to participate in scientific activities and support the numerous students and trainees of the School.On behalf of the University's leadership, Rector Hoang Anh Tuan once again expressed his sincere gratitude to all the foreign professors and scientists working and collaborating at the university. He also reaffirmed the consistent stance: always warmly welcoming and creating the most favorable conditions for international professors and research experts to teach and work at the University. The University of Social Sciences and Humanities hopes to continue receiving the cooperation and support of international professors and scientists in a number of specific activities in the future.
- Participate in teaching a number of specialized topics within the curriculum of various majors and specializations; Organize a number of scientific presentations. Students and trainees who participate will have their credits converted into equivalent credits and their learning outcomes recognized.
- Participate in teaching languages (Korean, Japanese, Thai, English, etc.) to students, trainees, and researchers.
- Co-supervising doctoral students with university staff and supporting international publications, helping to improve the international qualifications of faculty members.
- Participating in research projects, international scientific conferences, and publishing scientific works.
The university is committed to providing maximum support regarding visas and administrative procedures to ensure that professors can come and teach as smoothly as possible.
In addition, the University is ready to support and guarantee scientific research for researchers, introducing them to agencies, research institutes, and localities in Vietnam to conduct research and surveys smoothly and successfully.
