Student scientific research activities have been an important annual event of the university for many years. Through these activities, students have the opportunity to accumulate experience, learn scientific thinking methods, how to identify and solve problems, how to write scientific reports, and how to work in teams, etc.
In the 2020-2021 academic year, 1,002 out of 7,611 students participated in scientific research activities, completing 589 research projects. Many units achieved outstanding results in student scientific research activities, such as: the Faculty of Oriental Studies, which had the highest number of students participating in scientific research, accounting for 22% of the faculty's students; the Faculty of Psychology, with an average of 20% of its students participating in scientific research, and for three consecutive years, students participating in the final round of the national student scientific research competition organized by the Ministry of Education and Training... The university has been recognized by the Ministry of Education and Training as an outstanding unit in student scientific research activities for four consecutive years.

Associate Professor Dr. Dao Thanh Truong (Vice Rector of the University) delivered the concluding remarks.
Sharing the university's expectations for student research activities with faculty and students, Vice Rector Dao Thanh Truong stated: The university hopes to continue spreading the spirit of scientific research among social science and humanities students in the coming years. Not only should a large number of students from various faculties participate in this activity according to their respective fields and professional topics, but there should also be more student research conferences focusing on specific themes and interdisciplinary research directions, attracting students from many different years and faculties. Student research should not be approached merely as a movement, but should foster the research and publication capabilities of students based on sharing, with the emergence of young research groups and promising research groups.

Certificates of merit were presented to the winning teams.
Associate Professor Dr. Dao Thanh Truong also believes that student research needs to adapt and align with the trends and directions of the university's research, such as innovation, interdisciplinary research, applied research, entrepreneurial activities, and international integration in science. “Today's starting point for research can be a future career opportunity for students. Students need more support from their professors and the university in terms of guidance/experience sharing in research, research funding, information, and research databases… If we consider students as a potential young research workforce, student research may need more changes in policies supporting resources, organizational forms, and the search for funding/scholarships specifically for research,” Vice Rector Dao Thanh Truong emphasized.

Certificates of merit were awarded to students whose scientific research projects won first prize.
The NCKHSV Conference was divided into four subcommittees based on the following themes: Issues of Psychology, Ethnicity and Society; Issues of Politics, Tourism and Media; Issues of Information, Administration and Management Science; Issues of Philosophy, Religion, Language and Literature.
At the conclusion of the conference, the University awarded certificates of merit to 196 students who authored 113 student research projects; 25 projects won first prize, 38 projects won second prize, and 49 projects won third prize. The University's Youth Union awarded the Green Torch prize to 7 outstanding research projects on topics related to students and youth.

The Green Torch Award was presented to the groups of authors.
