Student Scientific Research Award: “The Green Torch” on the learning journey of VNU-USSH students.

After more than 5 months of launching and implementing the program, 939 students participated in the Student Scientific Research Award with 552 projects, of which 212 projects won awards at the Faculty/Department level.

On May 18, 2023, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, held the award ceremony for the University-level Student Scientific Research Award for the 2022-2023 academic year, in commemoration of Vietnam Science and Technology Day.
Associate Professor Dr. Dao Thanh Truong - Vice Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU Hanoi, is delighted with the scientific research results of VNU-USSH students in the 2022-2023 academic year. The Student Scientific Research Award is an annual award that is strongly embraced and supported by students of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU Hanoi. In the 2022-2023 academic year, the award achieved many successes, affirming the seriousness and passion of VNU students for scientific research activities. After more than 5 months of launching and implementing the program, 939 students participated with 552 projects, of which 212 projects won awards at the Faculty/Department level. In the final round, 20 projects won first prize, 40 projects won second prize, and 17 projects won third prize. Many research projects with scientific merit and practical applications were highly appreciated by the Council.
A new feature of this year's award is the identification of key directions for student research activities, as well as innovation in the scoring method with clear, transparent criteria that highly value the practical applications of the projects. The final round is organized on a university-wide scale, helping to assess the correlation between projects in different research fields.
Associate Professor Dr. Dao Thanh Truong - Vice Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU Hanoi, is very pleased with the scientific research results of VNU-USSH students in the 2022-2023 academic year.
With the goal of truly spreading student scientific research activities, attracting more and more students to participate in scientific research and innovation activities, and strengthening the connection between student scientific research activities and the university's scientific research orientation, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities has implemented policies to encourage and support student scientific research activities, notably investing in 21 key student scientific research projects in the 2022-2023 academic year.
To date, all key investment projects have completed their research reports, and some projects have had articles published or confirmed for publication in specialized journals, contributing to an increase in the number of domestic publications of the University. This demonstrates that student research activities are not merely a movement, but rather an activity that attracts students and helps enhance their independence and proactiveness in their studies.
 
 
 
At the ceremony, in order to honor the scientific research projects of students with research content on practical issues for students and with applications to the Youth Union and student association activities and youth movements of the school, the organizing committee of the "Green Torch" award for the 2022-2023 academic year, organized by the Youth Union and Student Association, also presented awards to the winning teams in the following categories: Excellent Research Methodology, Excellent Topic Selection, Excellent Solution, Excellent Application Value, and Most Popular Project - Wechoice (voted on the Green Torch fanpage).
Dr. Ta Thi Bich Ngoc - Secretary of the Youth Union of the school, presented certificates to the groups with outstanding projects in the categories of the "Green Torch" award for the 2022-2023 academic year, organized by the Youth Union and Student Association.
Associate Professor Dr. Dao Thanh Truong shared his joy at the achievements of scientific research activities and hoped that the scientific, technological, and innovative results of the faculty and students of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, would not only be limited to research published domestically, but would also reach international levels, integrating with the regional and global scientific community.
