"Trade union officials, keep the flame alive and pass it on..."

Comrade Nguyen Thanh Nam – Vice Chairman of the Trade Union of Hanoi National University – presented the Emulation Flag for the 2018-2019 academic year from the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor to the Trade Union of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.

The conference summarized a year of significant achievements for the University's Trade Union: the University's Trade Union received a commendation flag from the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, one individual received a certificate of merit from the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, two departmental trade unions and three individuals received certificates of merit from the Vietnam Education Trade Union, four collectives and 52 individuals received certificates of merit from the Vietnam National University, Hanoi Trade Union, and many collectives and individuals received certificates of merit from the University's Trade Union.

Comrade Nguyen Thanh Nam – Vice Chairman of the Trade Union of Hanoi National University – presented the Certificate of Commendation from the Vietnam Education Trade Union to the Trade Unions of the Faculty of Management Science and the Faculty of Philosophy.

But the numbers alone are not enough to fully convey the profound innovations in the school's trade union activities during the past academic year. We still remember the "Colors of Humanity" fashion show held on the occasion of Vietnamese Teachers' Day 2018, with the enthusiastic participation of all departmental trade unions and hundreds of union members. For the first time, the stage of the auditorium on the 8th floor of building E erupted with emotion and admiring applause as teachers "transformed" to showcase their modern, youthful, and charming beauty in fashionable and glamorous outfits. People discovered other beauties, more imbued with the breath of life, behind the academic and simple demeanor of the teachers' lectures. Not only that, the School's Trade Union also won First Prize overall in the 2018 VNU Trade Union Singing Contest with elaborately prepared and artistic performances; and won Second Prize in the 2018 VNU Trade Union Football Tournament after fiercely contested matches.

Professor Pham Quang Minh, Rector, presented the Certificate of Commendation from the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor to Ms. Ngo Thi Kieu Oanh, President of the University's Trade Union.

The past academic year also witnessed the School's Trade Union's support for the School's major policies, demonstrated through activities such as: seminars on utilizing learning materials and applying technology in teaching and research, seminars on improving foreign language proficiency among staff, and presentations on professional content such as international publications and teaching innovation.

Vice Principal Tran Thi Minh Hoa presented certificates of commendation from the Vietnam Education Union to the following individuals: Comrade Nguyen Van Thuy – Vice President of the School's Trade Union, Comrade Tran Thi Dieu – Vice President of the School's Trade Union, and Comrade Pham Huy Cuong – Deputy Head of the Culture and Sports Committee of the School's Trade Union.

It can be said that the trade union activities in the 2018-2019 school year not only brought a breath of fresh air to the cultural and sports activities of union members but also implemented professional activities that closely followed the overall development direction of the entire school.

As Comrade Ngo Thi Kieu Oanh - President of the School's Trade Union - shared at the conference: To have such attractive and engaging activities that connect union members and go into depth, it is essential that trade union officials both maintain the passion and inspire union members. Trade union activities must constantly innovate and contribute to highlighting the spirit and beauty of humanism in all activities of the School.
