Comrade Nguyen Van Kim emphasized that the Faculty of Oriental Studies of the University is one of the Faculties that always has the top regular admission scores of the University, but this year, with the new admission method of the Ministry of Education and Training, maintaining this achievement will pose a challenge to the Faculty Party Cell in the new term.
At the same time, the coming time is also the time when VNU will implement the plan to put Vietnam-Japan University into operation, this is a factor that has a significant impact not only on the enrollment activities of the faculty in general and the training work of the Department of Japanese Studies in particular.
From those challenging realities, the Deputy Secretary of the School Party Committee directed the Oriental Faculty Party Cell to identify key goals in the coming time, along with practical and effective implementation solutions, avoiding spreading out, outlining but not being able to implement.
"In its development directions, political and ideological work must always play an important role, taking the lead in all activities. Party members in the Party cell must be role models, with positive and pioneering actions for other members in the department to strive for and follow," Comrade Nguyen Van Kim directed.

Receiving the direction of the Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, the Oriental Studies Department Party Cell has outlined a number of key development directions for the cell in the coming time, such as:
Strengthen political and ideological work, fully and seriously participate in political activities and study sessions, campaigns, study and follow Ho Chi Minh's moral example to thereby equip Party members with knowledge about the Party and sense of responsibility.
Expand the vocational training structure in the faculty. Continue to improve the adjustment of majors and majors. Complete the project to open a major code for Southeast Asian studies, open a major code for training masters in Chinese studies, masters in Japanese studies and masters in Korean studies.
To expand the scale and develop the Faculty of Oriental Studies, in the upcoming term 2015-2017, the Faculty Party Cell plans to propose expanding the development of the Faculty's departments towards international-standard training, increasing the number of students enrolled in majors, increasing the number of lecturers...
Establish key research groups and propose new large-scale research directions such as: studying the role of the ASEAN community, studying the East Sea, studying the Asian community model... Registering research topics at all levels....
In the 2015-2017 term, every year, the Party Cell strives to achieve the title of "Strong and Clean Party Cell", 100% of Party members in the Party Cell achieve the title of "Qualified Party members, completing their tasks well". Strive to train and admit at least 2 cadres and 4 students into the Party throughout the term.

Some outstanding achievements in the 2013-2015 term of the Oriental Faculty Party Cell: The staff and students of the entire faculty are always politically and ideologically steadfast, have a correct understanding of the Party and State's policies and guidelines, implement the Party's regulations, the Resolutions of the 4th Central Committee, Session XI on Party building, and study and follow the moral example of Ho Chi Minh. Building and training a team of staff, especially young staff. Up to now, 100% of young staff have qualified to teach classes and participate in leading scientific topics. In particular, recently, the young staff of the department successfully organized a series of scientific seminars with the title: Japan and Asia Studies with good results. Regarding training activities, the Party Cell has directed the Faculty to complete the revision of the training program of the output standard systems towards credit-based training. Strengthen the innovation of teaching methods towards promoting the spirit of self-study and self-research of students, teaching with modern equipment, linking learning in the classroom with practice and reality. According to preliminary survey results, 100% of Oriental Faculty students after graduation had jobs with quite high incomes. Of which, 50.07% of students rated the specialized training as useful in work, 18.71% as very useful, 45% rated the specialized content as equipping learners with appropriate skills and 49% rated the specialized content as equipping learners with attitudes appropriate to the training objectives at a fair - good level... Regarding scientific research, according to preliminary statistics, up to now, the total number of articles from 2013 to 2014 of the departments in the Faculty is: 08 international conference articles, 12 articles published in international journals, 10 textbooks and reference books accepted, 05 topics at the Ministry and State level, 6 topics at the VNU level.... Student scientific research in the last term had 190 reports, of which 20 reports were selected to participate in the University-level student scientific conference. International cooperation is an important field and a strength of the Faculty. The Faculty always has good relationships with many major universities in the world such as: Tokyo University, Beijing Foreign Studies University, Seoul National University, Korea, Cholalongkorn University, Thailand... The Faculty is a unit that always receives funding from Toshiba Foundation, Japan Foundation, Korea Foundation, Jaika... for its training and research activities. |
