Comrade Nguyen Son Minh presented the self-criticism report of the Party Cell in the past term 2013-2015.
For the Party Cell, political and ideological work is always an important and regular task. The Party Cell has led the unit to promote solidarity and political courage in the face of challenges and difficulties, creating consensus and unity in the perception and action of all cadres and Party members for the goal of building and developing the Faculty of Journalism and Communication and the Center for Journalism and Communication, contributing practically and effectively to the cause of building and developing the School.
The Party Committee has directed Party members to implement self-criticism and criticism well, resolutely fight against opportunism and individualism; uphold the principle of democratic centralism, collective leadership and individual responsibility; promote organization and discipline in Party activities, creating conditions for Party members to directly participate in contributing ideas to build strategic plans for the development of the Faculty, Center and School.
Regarding leadership in implementing professional tasks, under the leadership of the Party Committee, the Party Cell has achieved many important results in the past term. Specifically, the Faculty of Journalism and Communication has organized well the training of all levels and systems. Currently, the Faculty has 520 full-time students, nearly 600 VHVL students, more than 116 graduate students, and 21 PhD students. The entire Faculty teaches more than 9,000 hours of training systems.
Currently, the Faculty is in charge of 2 undergraduate training majors (Journalism and Public Relations), training 3 levels from bachelor to doctorate, and is implementing a joint training program for a master's degree in Media Management with Stirling University.
The Faculty has adjusted and completed the training program framework of all 3 systems according to output standards, achieved excellent results and is the only faculty-level unit to be awarded a Certificate of Merit by the President of VNU for adjusting the program framework according to output standards.
Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Thi Minh Hoa, on behalf of the Party Committee and the School Board, gave a speech directing the Congress.
The work on learning materials has been promoted. Currently, there are 10 lectures and 2 textbooks that have been signed for compilation.
The Party Committee directed the Center's Board of Directors and the officials and Party members at the Center to actively and seriously implement the In-depth Investment Project to build the Center for Journalism and Communication, to serve well the training of journalism and public relations students, at the same time, to promote the school and VNU, as well as to initially implement service activities to generate revenue for the school.
During the 2013-2015 term, the Party cell directed the Faculty Board to successfully organize many domestic and international scientific seminars, such as seminars on media culture in the integration period, social media, classical media and public opinion, etc., organized many seminars with employers on improving the quality of journalism training, linking theory with practice, inviting and welcoming many domestic and foreign experts to exchange experiences, knowledge, and impart professional skills.
The 2013-2015 term was also the year when all Party members in the Party Cell completed their projects on time according to the contract. In which, the Faculty completed a research project of VNU, accepted 1 special project at VNU level, 1 group B project at VNU level.
Currently, the Party members of the Faculty are undertaking 1 State-level project, 3 National University-level projects, 1 project funded by the Asia Foundation, and 2 University-level projects. During the past term, the Faculty had nearly 45 scientific articles at domestic and international conferences (with scientific proceedings), or published in specialized journals. The Faculty's Party members have also published 6 monographs.
Speaking at the Congress, Comrade Tran Thi Minh Hoa, Vice Principal of the School, on behalf of the Party Committee and the School Board, highly appreciated the achievements and efforts of the Journalism and Communication Party Cell in the context of limited human resources. Comrade Tran Thi Minh Hoa hopes that the Party Cell will continue to maintain and promote the achievements to further develop the Faculty of Journalism and Communication and the Center for Journalism and Communication.
The Congress also elected a new Party Cell consisting of 3 comrades: Comrade Dang Thi Thu Huong (Secretary), Comrade Nguyen Son Minh (Deputy Secretary), and Comrade Bui Chi Trung (Party Cell member).
The new Party Committee for the 2015-2017 term was introduced before the congress.
