
Comrade Nguyen Son Minh presented the Party Committee's self-assessment report for the past term (2013-2015).
For the Party Branch, political and ideological work has always been an important and ongoing task. The Party Branch has led the unit in promoting the strength of unity and political fortitude in the face of challenges and difficulties, creating consensus and unity in awareness and action among all cadres and Party members for the goal of building and developing the Faculty of Journalism and Communication and the Center for Journalism and Communication Professional Training, contributing practically and effectively to the cause of building and developing the University.
The Party Committee directed Party members and cadres to effectively implement the system of self-criticism and criticism, resolutely fight against opportunism and individualism; uphold the principle of democratic centralism, implement collective leadership and individual responsibility; promote organization and discipline in Party activities, and create conditions for Party members and cadres to directly participate in contributing ideas to the development of strategic plans for the Faculty, Center and the University.
Regarding leadership in carrying out professional tasks, under the leadership of the Party Committee and Party Branch, many important results have been achieved in the past term. Specifically, the Faculty of Journalism and Communication has successfully organized training at all levels and programs. Currently, the Faculty has 520 full-time students, nearly 600 part-time students, over 116 postgraduate students, and 21 doctoral candidates. The entire Faculty has taught over 9000 hours across all training programs.
Currently, the Faculty is responsible for two undergraduate programs (Journalism and Public Relations), offering training at three levels from bachelor's to doctoral, and is implementing a joint master's program in Media Management with Stirling University.
The Faculty has adjusted and refined the training program framework for all three systems according to output standards, achieving excellent results and is the only faculty-level unit to be awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Director of the Vietnam National University for adjusting the program framework according to output standards.

Associate Professor Dr. Tran Thi Minh Hoa, on behalf of the Party Committee and the School's Board of Directors, delivered a speech providing guidance at the Congress.
Efforts to develop teaching materials have been intensified. Currently, 10 lectures and 2 textbooks have been contracted for compilation.
The Party Committee directed the Center's Board of Directors and all officials and Party members at the Center to actively and seriously implement the In-depth Investment Project to build the Center for Journalism and Communication Professional Training, serving well the training of journalism and public relations students, while also promoting the school and VNU Hanoi, and initially implementing service activities to generate revenue for the school.
During the 2013-2015 term, the Party branch directed the Faculty's Board to successfully organize numerous domestic and international scientific conferences, such as conferences on media culture in the era of integration, social media, classical media and public opinion, etc.; organized many seminars with employers on improving the quality of journalism training, linking theory with practice; and invited and welcomed many domestic and foreign experts to exchange experiences, knowledge, and professional skills.
The 2013-2015 term was also the year in which all Party members in the Party Branch completed their projects on time according to contract. Specifically, the Faculty completed one research project for the Vietnam National University, and successfully completed one special project at the Vietnam National University level and one Group B project at the Vietnam National University level.
Currently, Party members in the Faculty are undertaking 1 state-level research project, 3 national-level research projects, 1 project funded by the Asia Foundation, and 2 university-level research projects. During the past term, the Faculty published nearly 45 scientific papers at domestic and international conferences (with published proceedings) or in specialized journals. Party members in the Faculty have also published 6 monographs.
In her address to the Congress, Ms. Tran Thi Minh Hoa, Vice Principal of the School, on behalf of the Party Committee and the School's Board of Directors, highly appreciated the achievements and efforts of the Journalism and Communication Party Branch despite limited human resources. Ms. Tran Thi Minh Hoa expressed her hope that the Party Branch would continue to maintain and build upon its achievements to further develop the Faculty of Journalism and Communication and the Center for Journalism and Communication Professional Training.
The congress also elected a new Party Committee consisting of 3 members: Comrade Dang Thi Thu Huong (Secretary), Comrade Nguyen Son Minh (Deputy Secretary), and Comrade Bui Chi Trung (Party Committee member).

The new Party Committee for the 2015-2017 term was introduced before the congress.
