The Veterans Association of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities was awarded a certificate of merit by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Veterans Association.

From August 27 to August 28, 2024, at the Capital Command, the Hanoi Veterans Association organized the exemplary Veterans Emulation Congress for the period 2019-2024 and received the Third Class Labor Medal. At the Congress, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Veterans Association awarded a Certificate of Merit to the Veterans Association of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU-USSH) for its outstanding contributions to the patriotic emulation movement for the period 2019-2024. Comrade Pham Cong Nhat (Chairman of the School's Veterans Association) was also awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Hanoi Veterans Association.

Attending the Congress were: Senior Lieutenant General Be Xuan Truong, Secretary of the Party Committee, President of the Vietnam Veterans Association; Comrade Nguyen Thi Tuyen, Member of the Party Central Committee, Permanent Deputy Secretary of Hanoi City; Lieutenant General Nguyen Quoc Duyet, Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Commander of the Hanoi Capital Command; A number of comrades are senior generals of the Vietnam People's Army, Heroes of the Armed Forces. Also attending the Congress were a number of delegates who are Heroic Vietnamese Mothers, veterans who are outstanding citizens of the Capital in the period 2019-2024, and 197 delegates who are exemplary veterans representing 53 grassroots veteran units of the City.

In his opening speech, Major General Le Nhu Duc, Chairman of the City Veterans Association, said: Over the past 5 years, the City Veterans Association has always attached importance to leadership and direction in implementing well the emulation and reward work and the "Exemplary Veterans" emulation movement associated with the patriotic emulation movement, the campaigns of the Central and local levels, becoming a widespread revolutionary action movement from the City to the grassroots; creating great motivation, encouraging and motivating cadres and members to strive to compete, overcome difficulties, and successfully complete all assigned tasks; the City Veterans Association has always been strong in all aspects, worthy of the trust of the Party Committee, government and people of Hanoi.

As one of the representatives of the veteran unit of Block 487, in the period of 2019-2024, the Veterans Association of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi has made efforts to organize and encourage members to participate in activities in the emulation movement "Exemplary veterans" associated with professional activities in training and scientific research. In addition, the Association also actively participates in other activities such as organizing traditional education activities for students; participating in gratitude activities; organizing and encouraging members to contribute to the Fund to help southern provinces prevent and fight Covid-19, the Fund "eliminating dilapidated houses for veteran members", the Fund "Contributing stones to build Truong Sa", the Fund "Building a memorial monument for the event of cadres and students of Hanoi National University joining the army to protect the Fatherland", etc. thereby contributing to the overall emulation achievements of the City Veterans Association.
With the above achievements, the School's Veterans Association was commended by the Hanoi City Exemplary Veterans Emulation Congress for the period 2019-2024. At this Congress, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities Veterans Association was awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Central Executive Committee of the Vietnam Veterans Association and the Executive Committee of the Hanoi City Veterans Association for the collective and 01 individual for "Having outstanding achievements in the Patriotic Emulation Movement for the period 2019-2024".
