August school meeting: welcoming 2,300 new students of K69

Attending the Conference were the Vice President, Secretary of the School Council, Vice Principals, leaders of institutes, faculties, departments, affiliated centers and representatives of functional departments under the School Board; leaders of the Party Office - Mass Organizations and the School Trade Union.
The conference listened to MSc. Nguyen Van Thuy (Head of Administration - General Department) report on the results achieved in July, and emphasized the key tasks to be implemented in August, including: Completing preparations for the successful organization of the Conference of civil servants and employees and the Summary of the 2023-2024 school year (expected on August 23); regular university admission; admission for students of Specialized High Schools; welcoming graduate students and doctoral students for the first admission in 2024; completing some items of facility repair before the new school year, etc. Dr. Dinh Tien Hieu (Head of the Student Affairs and Program Department) shared and noted that the key plan for August is to organize a welcoming ceremony for new students on August 25; on August 26, students will begin the Student Integration Week and end before the September 2 holiday. The conference also listened to Associate Professor, Dr. Dang Thi Thu Huong (Vice Principal) emphasize some results in training work: enrollment in grade 10 of Specialized High School exceeded the assigned target; the number of students and postgraduates enrolled in the first round was very positive. The Vice Principal also requested units to actively communicate and introduce training majors for the second round of postgraduate enrollment (around October 2024) to complete and exceed the target assigned by VNU.On the basis of summarizing some outstanding results in cooperation and development activities, scientific research, Vice Principal Dao Thanh Truong emphasized the key tasks of August: The Department of Cooperation and Development coordinates with key units to organize and evaluate the effectiveness of international training activities in the recent past to draw experience and propose solutions to promote in the coming time. Vice Principal Dao Thanh Truong also informed: The school will establish a department to support international students, located in the Department of Cooperation and Development to professionalize, specialize, improve the effectiveness and quality of international cooperation activities in training; establish the Organizing Committee of the Scientific Conference: 30 years of training and research in Social Sciences and Humanities; review all plans for publishing publications on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of tradition and 30 years of the founding of the School, submit to the School's leaders for approval for official implementation. Regarding administrative and management work, Vice Principal Lai Quoc Khanh shared more information about the renovation and improvement activities of facilities that will be deployed and completed in August 2024: Deploying the Wifi Project Phase 2 to cover the entire school, with stable access speed; arranging, organizing, and optimizing the use of classrooms in the BC building, building I; completing the renovation plan for the facade of building C, building H, etc.
Based on listening to the opinions exchanged from Vice Principals, representatives of functional departments and training units, Principal Hoang Anh Tuan concluded:
- Recommend that heads of units fully, effectively and seriously organize meetings on building and implementing operational tasks; the communication of the School's conclusions and policies must be transparent and timely, ensuring that all staff of the unit fully and accurately grasp them.
- Personnel work: Complete and appoint 01 Vice Principal of the High School for Social Sciences and Humanities according to the proposal of the unit, aiming at innovative and autonomous projects, in line with current educational trends.
- Admission work for new students of K69 needs to be carried out carefully, scientifically and professionally. At the same time, assign the Student Affairs and Support Department as the focal point, together with related units (Youth Union, HC-TH Department...) on the basis of cooperation with the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, VNU, to effectively organize and implement the Free Dental Examination/Consultation Program for new students of K69, free dental examination and treatment for all disabled students of the School (during their time studying at the School).
- Continue to promote training for administrative staff throughout the School to improve professional capacity and professionalism, ensuring flexibility in performing tasks (taking on assistant positions such as training assistant, student affairs assistant, etc.). Heads of units are requested to pay attention and send staff to attend the training (expected to be held in early September 2024) in full and with the right composition.
- Continue to improve training: encourage and support lecturers to promote innovation in teaching methods, apply information technology and AI in teaching (enhance online teaching and teaching via subject websites).
- Renovation and refurbishment of facilities: Ensure optimization of area and usage based on strict compliance with processes and procedures as prescribed by the state.
- Finance: Diversify revenue sources - streamline expenditure sources; calculate balance, ensure good support for staff and student activities on the basis of good implementation of financial management regulations.
