The conference was chaired by the Party Committee Secretary and Rector, Hoang Anh Tuan. Attendees included the Vice President and Secretary of the University Council, the Vice Rectors, leaders of institutes, faculties, departments, and centers under the Rectorate, and representatives of the functional departments within the Rectorate; as well as leaders of the Party and Union Offices and the University's Trade Union.

Overview of the July 2024 briefing meeting.
The conference heard a report from Mr. Nguyen Van Thuy (Head of Administration and General Affairs Department) summarizing the achievements in June and emphasizing the key tasks to be implemented in July, including: summarizing the 2023-2024 academic year; organizing the 2024 staff and employee conference; regular university enrollment; enrollment for students of the Specialized High School; welcoming postgraduate and doctoral students for the first intake of 2024; successfully completing the quality accreditation of training programs according to AUN-QA standards and at the Ministry of Education and Training level; and carrying out infrastructure renovation work during the summer.

MSc. Nguyen Van Thuy particularly emphasized the importance of electricity conservation, inspecting and reviewing equipment to ensure safety and prevent fires and explosions during the peak hot season.
At the conference, participating delegates also focused on exchanging and sharing solutions to accomplish several key tasks in student recruitment, training, international student exchange, scientific research, administration, and management, etc.

Ms. Kim Thi Diep Ha (Head of Planning and Finance Department) shared information and updated the regulations and guidelines of the Government and the education sector on financial matters.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Ha, Director of the Center for Foreign Languages and Training Cooperation, shared: The student exchange program at Guilin University of Science and Technology (China) has arrived and has been very thoughtfully and professionally welcomed by the host university. The student exchange program at Honghe Academy (China) is also completing the procedures to begin its program in mid-July. With the decisive and close guidance of the Board of Directors, the close coordination of functional departments, and the support and participation from training units, the program has initially succeeded in concretizing the school's training cooperation activities.
However, to expand the number of participating students and improve the quality of international student exchange programs, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Ha suggested that in the future, information about the programs should be disseminated early and widely, focusing on the value that the course brings to students, as well as giving students enough time to prepare the necessary procedures to participate in the course. At the same time, the university should also give more autonomy to the coordinating unit to directly communicate with partners to expedite the implementation process.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Ha proposed several solutions to promote academic exchange activities for VNU-USSH students at foreign universities.
Dr. Dinh Tien Hieu (Head of Student Affairs and Student Support Department) expressed his hope for the active cooperation and participation of heads of departments and faculty members to contribute to the successful organization of several important events in July, such as: the Bachelor's degree awarding ceremony, the enrollment of students from the Specialized High School, etc.

Dr. Dinh Tien Hieu delivered a speech at the conference.
Mr. Pham Van Hue (Deputy Head of the Training Department) shared the results of the second-year program enrollment: with the policy of expanding enrollment for second-year programs in 26 out of 28 undergraduate programs at VNU-USSH, by the end of June, two-thirds of the assigned targets had been basically achieved. To ensure the success of the enrollment process, the Training Department hopes for more active participation from the training units in widely communicating this policy to students.

Mr. Pham Van Hue, M.Sc., delivered a speech at the conference.
According to the Center for Educational Quality Assurance, in July, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities will have one undergraduate program undergoing accreditation according to AUN-QA standards, and three undergraduate programs undergoing accreditation at the ministerial level. Thus, by 2024, 100% of undergraduate programs at VNU-USSH will have been accredited. Simultaneously, the first three Master's programs of the university will undergo accreditation. This not only demonstrates the university's commitment to society in continuously improving the quality of education, but also contributes to affirming the position of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in the current strong trend of digital transformation and global integration.

Dr. Pham Huy Cuong delivered a speech at the conference.
Regarding the quality assurance and ranking of universities, Associate Professor Dr. Dang Thi Thu Huong emphasized that we have pioneered the accreditation of training programs and achieved very good results. However, university ranking is much more difficult and requires significant attention and investment from the leadership and faculty of training institutions. In particular, some fields such as Linguistics, Social Work, Political Science, Journalism, and Public Relations, which are approaching international rankings, need to quickly improve and enhance certain criteria to be ranked.

Vice Rector Dang Thi Thu Huong emphasized several key tasks in training, student recruitment, and quality assurance that need to be completed in July.
Based on listening to the opinions and exchanges from the Vice Rectors, representatives of the functional departments, and training units, Rector Hoang Anh Tuan concluded:
In June, thanks to the concerted efforts of the leadership and all faculty members of our school, we achieved many remarkable results: successfully completing the inspection of the high school graduation exam for the entire city of Hanoi; successfully organizing the entrance exam for the 10th grade at the Specialized High School for Social Sciences and Humanities, which was highly praised by the public for its exam quality, strict regulations, suitability to current trends, cost-effectiveness, and convenience for students/parents; successfully completing the conference to evaluate the results of cooperation between the two Schools of Social Sciences and Humanities, opening up many prospects for future cooperation; and completing the project to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the school's tradition and the 30th anniversary of its establishment.

Principal Hoang Anh Tuan concluded the conference.
Principal Hoang Anh Tuan also noted several key tasks for July:
- Year-end review: implemented seriously, frankly, effectively, ensuring progress and adhering to the latest guidelines of VNU.
- University autonomy project: Unit leaders should closely follow the implementation plan, ensuring completion on schedule, and widely disseminate information to faculty members within their units.
- Admissions work: Pay close attention to approved plans, and regularly update on directives from the Ministry of Education and Training and Vietnam National University, Hanoi, ensuring sufficient enrollment numbers and improving quality. Provide effective counseling to parents and students, and strengthen communication activities to spread the image of the University and information about its academic programs.
Successfully organizing the Graduation Ceremony and awarding Bachelor's degrees in a solemn, standardized, innovative, warm, and friendly manner will create a positive media image of the University. In addition to the Board of Directors, representatives from all departments and faculty members should participate in the award ceremonies to ensure the event's success.
- Student training and support: The training department needs to proactively make regular adjustments and improvements: improving the admission/reception/file management process; improving the management of general undergraduate and postgraduate courses; improving the development of training programs to adapt to the new context… and in the direction of “maximizing opportunities for learners” and “benefiting lecturers in terms of both time and expertise”.
- Scientific research: In July, conduct a preliminary review/evaluation of the effectiveness of investment policies for scientific research to make appropriate adjustments and improvements; at the same time, pay attention to the progress of scientific activities in the project commemorating the 80th anniversary and 30th anniversary of the journal's establishment; promote ongoing projects to upgrade the international ranking of the English-language journal; and develop a project for an electronic version of the journal.
- Infrastructure renovation: thoroughly implement the spirit of saving/frugality, focusing on priority for necessary items, ensuring safety, and providing the best possible service for teaching and learning activities of both staff and students.
