Before the summary conference took place at the Hall, veterans of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities offered flowers at the "Memorial of cadres and students of Hanoi National University participating in the military service to protect the Fatherland" on the campus of the University of Natural Sciences.
At the Conference, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Cong Nhat (Chairman) on behalf of the Association's Executive Committee presented a report on the results of emulation work in 2022, which highlighted the following outstanding achievements: All cadres and members were exemplary in strictly implementing the Party's directives and resolutions, the State's policies and laws; The Association has proactively and actively participated in Party and Government building work, contributing to the overall success of the University; The Association has cared for, cared for, helped and encouraged its members, together improving their material and spiritual life, protecting the legitimate and legal rights of its members; The Association and its members have actively participated in social work activities. In particular, in 2022, the Association of War Veterans coordinated with the Association of War Veterans of the University of Natural Sciences, the Association of Alumni - Soldiers 6971 to organize donations to complete the project to build a "Monument to commemorate cadres and students of Hanoi National University participating in the military service to protect the Fatherland"; donated and awarded more than 80 scholarships to first-year students of the two schools; actively participated and was awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Veterans Association for outstanding achievements in the movement "Exemplary veterans participating in the fight against Covid-19"; successfully organized a field trip "Returning to the source, Revisiting the old battlefield" for all members in Quang Ninh province.
Based on the achieved results and the new situation, the Association of War Veterans has identified key tasks for 2023: Encouraging members and war veterans to continue promoting the spirit of self-reliance, solidarity and mutual assistance to successfully complete assigned tasks; actively participating in campaigns and movements of the Central, City and School; encouraging members to actively participate in social organization activities and gratitude activities; participating in protecting the legitimate rights and interests of members and veteran organizations.
With outstanding achievements in 2022, the School's Veterans Association was honored to receive 01 Emulation Flag for the collective and 01 Certificate of Merit for individuals from the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Veterans Association; the Executive Committee of the Hanoi City Veterans Association awarded 02 Certificates of Merit for individuals.
Speaking at the Summary Conference of the Association of War Veterans of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Comrade Nguyen Van Thanh congratulated the Association of War Veterans of the University on its outstanding achievements in 2022. In particular, some activities have great significance: building a Memorial Monument for cadres and students of Hanoi National University who joined the army. This not only demonstrates the tradition of drinking water, remembering its source, showing gratitude and commemorating generations of cadres and students who sacrificed their blood and bones for the cause of defending the Fatherland, but is also a place to educate traditions and foster pride in the glorious history of the University for the younger generation. Activities closely related to expertise such as organizing seminars and scientific activities on the occasion of commemorating major events of the country and Hanoi City are highly appreciated by the Association of War Veterans of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.

The members attending the Conference exchanged and discussed the results achieved in 2022 and proposed a number of activities to promote implementation in 2023.
Comrade Duong Xuan Son (Association of the Institute of Journalism and Communication) expressed his thanks for the thoughtful attention of the Association's Executive Committee to each member, and hoped that in 2023, the Association would pay more attention to activities of protecting legitimate rights and interests and providing legal aid to members.
Also within the framework of the Conference, the Executive Committee of the Association of War Veterans of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities awarded decisions, certificates of merit and gifts to the branches and members who had outstanding achievements in 2022 and presented gifts of gratitude to comrades who are school officials and members of the Association of War Veterans but have reached retirement age according to the state regime.
In his closing speech at the Conference, Chairman Pham Cong Nhat expressed his thanks for the companionship, support and active participation of all members, especially the exemplary role of the Branch Presidents. On the occasion of the upcoming Lunar New Year, the Executive Committee of the War Veterans Association of the school would like to wish the delegates and members good health, peace, happiness and to participate more actively in the activities of the Association and the mass movements of the school and locality in the coming time.
