These were memorable experiences for students of the Tourism Studies department during their comprehensive internship, evocatively titled: "A Journey Covered in Sunshine."
Opportunities for students to learn, research, and gain practical knowledge.
In late June, students from the K68 Tourism and Travel Service Management program, along with eight double-degree students from the Faculty of Tourism Studies, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, eagerly embarked on a meaningful trip called "A Journey Covered in Sunshine," led by experienced lecturers Ms. Dinh Nhat Le - Group Leader and Dr. Vu Huong Lan - Instructor. The trip lasted 5 days and 5 nights, from June 30th to July 5th, covering Hue, Hoi An, and Da Nang.
Under the guidance of lecturers from the Faculty of Tourism Studies, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, and with the support of Asia Gate Travel Company, the preparations for the trip were planned and carried out by the students.
Each day of the "Sunny Journey" was truly meaningful for the students. This meaning stemmed from both the scenery and the people. If Hue represents the golden heritage of a bygone era, both contemplative and elegant, then Hoi An is a stunning example of a vibrant, colorful, and charming urban trading culture. Da Nang – the final stop – offered a glimpse into a contemporary heritage with an international feel and a modern, integrated lifestyle.
Mr. Nguyen Van Dung, General Director of Asia Gate Travel Company, shared: “Each trip for the students is not simply for sightseeing, fun, entertainment, and seeking interesting experiences, but it is also an opportunity to learn, research, accumulate practical knowledge, and assess whether they are suitable for the tourism and travel industry.”

MSc. Dinh Nhat Le shared: "Each of your presences is a small ray of sunshine weaving together the entire 'Sun-Drenched Journey' picture." Not only for academic purposes, Tourism students at VNU-USSH travel to learn more about the country and its people, to love their homeland even more; to love every branch, blade of grass, every mountain, every river, every drop of dew, every ray of sunshine; to love every glance, every smile. Sometimes they travel to understand themselves better, to love the colors and emblem of the Tourism program even more.
Unforgettable experiences and emotions from "A Journey Covered in Sunshine"
The dreamy city of Hue welcomed the internship group members with their first destination: Thien Mu Pagoda, the "foremost ancient temple" of Hue. Located on Ha Khe hill on the north bank of the Perfume River, the pagoda, over 400 years old, is considered a cultural and religious symbol of the ancient capital.

Nestled beside the tranquil Perfume River, An Hien Garden House is one of the most representative architectural works in Hue to date. Its ancient grounds, close to nature and always bathed in sunlight, transport visitors back to the traditional garden house architecture of old Hue.
The members of the Comprehensive Internship Team listened in turn to explanations about the An Hien garden house.
The next stop on the tour in Hue was the Tomb of Emperor Tu Duc – a structure boasting one of the most impressive architectural features in the system of royal tombs of the Nguyen dynasty. Situated amidst the picturesque landscape of mountains and forests, the tomb not only exudes the solemn and majestic appearance of an emperor but is also adorned with surprisingly romantic and poetic touches that captivate the heart.

A must-see destination when visiting the ancient capital of Hue – the Imperial Citadel – will leave an indelible mark on your "Journey to the Land of Heritage". Here, the members of the internship group were immersed in a space that embodies the historical beauty and architectural pinnacle of the Nguyen Dynasty era.

On their way to Hoi An, the Internship Group had the opportunity to visit the famous Bay Mau coconut forest eco-tourism area, enjoying the peaceful natural scenery of lush green coconut groves, clear waterways, and river cruises in rustic basket boats.
The members enjoyed the experience of cruising on the river in basket boats through the Bay Mau coconut forest.
Visiting the World Heritage site of Hoi An Ancient Town, the participants had free time to experience and explore the beauty of an ancient city, a once bustling trading port with its unique, time-worn architectural structures and unparalleled culinary map.

The next leg of the journey takes the group to explore the mystical beauty, rich in architecture and culture of the Champa civilization, at the My Son Sanctuary. With over 70 exquisitely carved temples, characteristic of Champa art, this site is the culmination of cultural, historical, artistic, and architectural values established over nine centuries by the Champa people, and is considered on par with famous historical sites in Southeast Asia.
The members received explanations about the history, architecture, and historical value of the My Son Sanctuary.
The members enjoyed a Cham dance performance at the My Son sanctuary.
On the Son Tra Peninsula, home to stunning beaches and a diverse and rich natural ecosystem, known as the "green land" and "precious gem" of Da Nang, the group visited Linh Ung Pagoda. Nestled against the sturdy Son Tra mountain peak, the pagoda is considered the largest spiritual site in Da Nang city, both in scale and artistry.

The Gala Dinner program was the focal point that connected the emotions of the entire group throughout the journey.
The final stop on the "Journey to Heritage" was a day trip to Da Nang, Vietnam's most livable city, with its incredibly famous tourist destinations both domestically and internationally, such as Ba Na Hills, My Khe Beach, and Cham Island. Visiting Hue, Hoi An, and Da Nang, the students were deeply impressed by the "golden triangle" region of Central Vietnam in particular, and Vietnam in general, a land with incredibly rich tourism resources, both natural and cultural, which, if exploited sustainably and effectively, would bring enormous economic benefits to the country.
The "Sunny Journey" has come to an end, but it has opened up many memorable experiences for the K68 Tourism and Travel Management students of the Faculty of Tourism Studies. Goodbye and see you again on exciting trips specifically for VNU-USSH Tourism students!
