For the first time, virtual reality technology is applied in the dissemination of Vietnamese language and culture.

The Department of Linguistics, Vietnamese Language and Vietnamese Studies, University of Social Sciences and Humanities and the Center for Digital Content Design Research, National Kaohsiung University signed a cooperation agreement to apply virtual reality technology in teaching and promoting Vietnamese language and culture abroad on August 22, 2025.
Under the auspices of the Ministry of Science and Technology of Taiwan (China), the Digital Content Design Research Center has trained lecturers and students at the Faculty of Linguistics, Vietnamese and Vietnamese Language to learn how to use and apply devices to organize virtual reality classes. This is an important and practical cooperation serving the opening of the Faculty's Linguistics and AI major, and at the same time promises many important cooperations in creating source materials for Vietnamese language and Vietnamese culture, creating source materials for Vietnamese language proficiency assessment, organizing virtual reality classes with National Kaohsiung University, creating source materials for Vietnamese dialects for new immigrants in Taiwan (China)... in the near future.
Leaders of the Department of Linguistics, Vietnamese Language and Vietnamese Studies, University of Social Sciences and Humanities and the Center for Digital Content Design Research, National Kaohsiung University signed a cooperation agreement to apply virtual reality technology in teaching and promoting Vietnamese language and culture abroad.
With trust and respect, the Center for Digital Content Design Research, National Kaohsiung University has chosen the Department of Linguistics, Vietnamese Language and Vietnamese Studies, University of Social Sciences and Humanities as the first unit in Vietnam to pilot virtual reality technology for higher education (after testing with nearly 50 high schools in Taiwan (China) and Japan). The Center for Digital Content Design Research also presented the Department with 04 sets of VIVE glasses to serve the cooperation implementation with a total value of about 200 million VND. These glasses were developed by HTC, one of the pioneers in developing VR glasses. The presence of these modern devices in Vietnam promises to open up intuitive and vivid learning experiences, contributing to improving the effectiveness of teaching Vietnamese language and culture, and above all, spreading and affirming the Humanistic Identity for foreigners.

Virtual reality technology has emerged since the late 60s of the 20th century and is known by many names such as virtual environment (synthetic environment), cyberspace, artificial reality (artificial reality). Education is currently having innovations in methods in combination with new technology. In this sense, virtual reality (VR) brings students new approaches, easier to absorb and apply lessons more effectively. Virtual reality (VR) is an environment that simulates the real world. It is simulated by humans and in that environment, all images and operating mechanisms directly affect human senses.

Receiving these advanced devices also means receiving the hope of innovating teaching methods, improving training quality and gradually affirming the position of Vietnamese as a language with cultural depth and influence in the region and the world.
