The closing ceremony of the 2025 Vietnamese Language Teaching Training Course for Overseas Vietnamese Teachers was held on August 28, 2025 at the headquarters of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese (Ministry of Foreign Affairs). Attending the ceremony were Mr. Nguyen Trung Kien, Chairman of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese, Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan, Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities; leaders of Central Departments and branches, lecturers, experts and 80 overseas Vietnamese teachers from 15 countries and territories.
Mr. Nguyen Trung Kien, Chairman of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, highly appreciated the creativity of the students, with support and guidance from the lecturers in the course.
Speaking at the closing ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Trung Kien emphasized that under the professional responsibility of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and the team of lecturers and experts, the Training Course has completed nearly 20 sessions in more than two weeks of serious work. Practical topics on modern Vietnamese language teaching methods, digital technology application, classroom organization, teaching literary appreciation, etc., along with discussion activities, internships and practical experiences in many localities have brought sustainable values to the students.
In particular, he highly appreciated the creativity when the students, with the support and guidance from the lecturers, participated in the performance for the first time in the Gala program "Lovely Vietnamese" and the Award Ceremony "Vietnamese Ambassadors Abroad" 2025, contributing to the creation of unique performances, contributing to the overall success of the event. Mr. Nguyen Trung Kien also affirmed that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Committee will continue to accompany and provide practical support to build a global network of Vietnamese teachers. He believes that, with the knowledge, skills and experience equipped from the Training Course, when the teachers return to their home countries, they will become "language ambassadors", spreading the love for the Vietnamese language, fostering national pride and contributing to preserving the Vietnamese cultural identity in the overseas Vietnamese community.

Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan, Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (VNU), congratulated the successful training course and sincerely thanked the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese for creating conditions for the University to preside over the training and teaching work, contributing to the overall success of the course. Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan affirmed the commitment of the University, with the core being the Faculty of Linguistics, Vietnamese Language and Vietnam Studies, to continue to accompany the mission of teaching Vietnamese to the community. In the coming time, the University will develop and edit a set of Vietnamese teaching materials for many levels, which not only teach the language but also integrate culture and history, helping teachers have more quality resources to convey to students.
Representing the trainees, Ms. Do Thi Thuy Duong (Japan) expressed that the training course was a valuable opportunity to learn Vietnamese teaching methods and appropriate learning materials, as well as to connect and learn from teachers and colleagues from all over the world. For Ms. Duong, the fact that the course took place on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of National Day on September 2nd brought her special pride and emotion.
Ms. Pham My Dung (Taiwan, China) shared that, although she has been away from her homeland for 26 years, she is always passionate about how her children and grandchildren can preserve the Vietnamese language and national culture. This training course has equipped her with more knowledge and teaching skills, and at the same time opened up opportunities to learn from her colleagues' experiences, becoming valuable assets for teaching Vietnamese.
Ms. Do Bich Thao (Poland) said that although the course was not long, the students learned many useful lessons, taught by leading experts; everyone in the course also became more attached and connected with each other. She emphasized that the spirit of learning and love for the profession will motivate the students to persevere in teaching Vietnamese to generations abroad.
Students were honored to receive certificates of the training course. The 2025 Vietnamese language training course for overseas Vietnamese teachers is an annual activity organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, with the training program chaired by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. This is not only a professional training program, but also a cultural bridge, contributing to fostering national pride, love for the Vietnamese language and attachment to the homeland in the Vietnamese community around the world. Through this, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (VNU) once again affirms its pioneering position in training, research and spreading the Vietnamese language to the world.
