Establishing a space for effective and sustainable connection and cooperation between training institutions and businesses.

Attending the meeting, on the school's side, in addition to Vice Principal Dao Thanh Truong, were the heads of the following departments and units: the High School for Social Sciences and Humanities, the Cooperation and Development Department, the Administration and General Affairs Department, and the Training Department.

On the side of the Business Association, in addition to Mr. Mac Quoc Anh, there were also representatives from the Anti-Counterfeiting Fund, the Institute of Anti-Counterfeiting Technology; the Anti-Counterfeiting Technology Magazine; the Center for Business Management and Promotion for Corporate Clients; Saigon - Hanoi Commercial Joint Stock Bank (SHB); Saigon - Hanoi Insurance Joint Stock Company, KingsMan Academy of Strategy and Human Resources; and Minh Tien Berest Group Joint Stock Company.

Professor Hoang Anh Tuan (Rector of the university) extended his best wishes for good health to the delegates representing the businesses attending the meeting on the occasion of the Lunar New Year of the Tiger and assessed this as a "fortunate encounter" between Hanoi National University in general, and the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in particular, and businesses in Hanoi; hoping that the meeting would serve as a "boost" for deeper and more effective cooperation.

At the beginning of the working session, Associate Professor Dr. Dao Thanh Truong gave a general overview of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and emphasized that linking training programs with practical applications and strengthening the connection between training activities and businesses and employers is a key task that the Board of Directors is very concerned about. According to the Vice Rector: “Over the years, the University has focused on adjusting training content to meet the needs of the labor market for high-quality human resources. However, cooperation between the University and businesses has not been truly diverse. Therefore, we very much hope that in the future we will expand cooperation with businesses in activities such as: supporting lecturers and students in research, teaching, internships, and practical training; recruiting graduates; supporting students affected by the pandemic; organizing career guidance seminars for students, specialized seminars, and forums related to financial and economic policy consulting; establishing scholarship funds for scientific research; building smart school models, converting the functions of buildings and services for the university, etc.”

Associate Professor Bui Thanh Nam (Head of Training Department) provided further information about the regular training programs from bachelor's to doctoral levels, part-time study programs, and short-term training programs leading to vocational certificates at the School of Social Sciences and Humanities. Based on this, the School can provide businesses with excellent students and high-quality human resources, and offer skills training services for staff and employees of various organizations.

Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Quang Lieu (Principal of the High School for Gifted Students in Social Sciences and Humanities) expressed his desire to strengthen cooperation between the school and businesses, partly to help students have a practical internship environment and the opportunity to find the best jobs in their field; and also to help businesses recruit personnel with good expertise and proficient skills.

Mr. Nguyen Van Thuy (Head of Administration and General Affairs Department) and Mr. Luong Ngoc Vinh (Deputy Head of Cooperation and Development Department) also shared their desire for businesses to cooperate and support in the future to improve the quality of the school's facilities and equipment towards modernization; and at the same time diversify the school's cooperative and external relations.

Mr. Mac Quoc Anh, on behalf of the Association's leadership, shared: The Association currently has approximately 318,000 small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Hanoi, participating in all economic, cultural, and social sectors of the capital and the country. Therefore, the businesses in the Association are ready to cooperate with the University in all areas of activity: supporting the "Zero-Cost Supermarket"; supporting student internships; recruiting graduates; scientific research; upgrading and renovating facilities; as well as other activities: supporting students, startups, awarding scholarships, transferring research from lecturers and students of the university, etc.

Mr. Dang Duy Phu (Representative of SHB Bank) shared: SHB is ready to organize experience-sharing and career guidance sessions to support students; support internships and surveys for lecturers and students; provide the best financial services at the lowest cost: card issuance, salary payment, financial services: account management, promotional programs, free services; tuition fee collection solutions, loan packages, unsecured loans. In addition, SHB has preferential capital programs for construction and renovation projects of the University's facilities.

Mr. Nguyen Van Truong (Representative of SG-HN Insurance Company) stated: The company has strengths in providing insurance solutions, internship locations for students, and opportunities for lecturers to conduct surveys not only in Hanoi but also in other provinces nationwide; it also trains students in additional skills, helping them access diverse professions and participate in the strategy of distributing insurance products to other partners. Furthermore, the company is ready to participate in other programs that the University needs through the association.

Representatives from Minh Tien Group presented the circular economy model for their coffee products and also added that the Group's member units warmly welcome students for internships and subsequent employment.

Mr. Hoang Trung Dung (Chairman of Kingsman Academy of Strategy and Human Resources) shared: "The Academy's strength lies in providing training programs in business management. Established over 10 years ago, Kingsman has established cooperative relationships and trained personnel for most major economic corporations in Vietnam. Therefore, we can fully cooperate with the School in accepting student interns, recruiting employees, and providing training courses on management skills and business and startup development."

On behalf of the Association and the participating businesses, Mr. Mac Quoc Anh summarized some general points: following this meeting, the two sides will have a cooperation framework between businesses belonging to the Association and the School, as well as a specific program for 2022 and subsequent years. Regular reviews will be conducted every 3 to 6 months to evaluate the activities.

Concluding the meeting, Associate Professor Dr. Dao Thanh Truong expressed his deep gratitude to the Association's leadership and the leaders of the participating businesses for their attention and support to the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi. He noted that the potential for cooperation between the two sides is immense across all fields: training, infrastructure, scientific research, human resource management, insurance, credit, etc. Therefore, following today's meeting, the two sides will sign a framework agreement for cooperation, and then develop specific cooperation programs for each year. The University will appoint contact persons to ensure regular and effective communication. Associate Professor Dr. Dao Thanh Truong emphasized: “It can be said that today's meeting is very important, opening up a phase of closer, deeper, and more effective cooperation between the University and businesses in the Hanoi Small and Medium-sized Enterprise Association; contributing to improving the quality of training at the University, while helping businesses train and recruit highly skilled personnel with all the necessary skills to supplement their workforce.”
