During the meeting, Ambassador Nadav Eshcar shared his desire to implement a research and teaching program on Israel at universities in Vietnam. This proposal is part of the Israeli government's plan to expand education about Israel in the Asian region. In Vietnam, the Israeli Embassy in Hanoi has chosen the University of Social Sciences and Humanities as a location to implement this idea.
Professor Hoang Anh Tuan expressed his gratitude for the trust placed in him by the Israeli Embassy and stated that the University of Social Sciences and Humanities has the necessary conditions and capabilities to cooperate in implementing the above idea. The Faculty of Oriental Studies has many years of experience in training students in various fields of country studies such as Korean Studies, Japanese Studies, Chinese Studies, Indian Studies, and Southeast Asian Studies. Adding research content on Israel and Judaism is very practical and provides many opportunities to broaden the knowledge base for the University's students and trainees.

The meeting took place online via Zoom.
With this agreement, the two sides discussed several preliminary cooperation options such as: organizing short-term courses on Israeli language, culture, and history with the participation of teachers and experts from Israeli universities; organizing cultural and artistic exchange activities, events, and exhibitions to promote the people and country of Israel; and coordinating the search for scholarships in Israel for students and trainees of the University. After achieving positive results, the University and the Israeli Embassy will gradually proceed to establish a specialized field of study on Israel within the Faculty of Oriental Studies.
Once the Covid-19 pandemic is under control, the two sides will continue discussions on specific areas of cooperation.
The University of Social Sciences and Humanities has collaborated with the Israeli Embassy in Vietnam to organize numerous activities, including the annual Holocaust Remembrance Ceremony since 2017. These activities have seen the participation of a large number of faculty, staff, and students from the University, as well as representatives from the Israeli Embassy.
