The New Year's gathering was attended by all officials, employees, and former teachers.
At the meeting, Professor Hoang Anh Tuan emphasized that 2025 marks the end of the first 30-year cycle of the University with many achievements such as: the organizational structure is moving towards perfection, the staff is approaching the standard, the training scale is nearing the golden ratio, the culture of quality assurance and university ranking are improving. The university's scientific research is growing strongly, policy consulting is becoming increasingly high-quality and extensive, national reputation is enhanced, and international standing is expanding. The university's finances are stable and growing well.
Fulfilling our responsibilities to our predecessors, facing the trend of university autonomy in the context of intense competition, and standing before a new era of national development, the Faculty of Humanities needs to boldly change in order to achieve breakthrough development…
On the opening day of the school year in the Spring of the Year of the Horse, Principal Hoang Anh Tuan called on all staff and employees of the school to compete in labor, considering 2026 as the first year of a new development cycle, calling 2026 the year of "HUMANISTIC ASPIRATION".
To realize that aspiration, all staff and employees have set six goals for the new year: Working together in unity, Dedication to the profession, Contribution to the industry, Aspiration for the University, National reputation (training elites, excellent research, top-notch consulting, creating knowledge to serve the community), and Reaching out internationally.
Regarding professional work, the Rector emphasized four key areas: Continuing Academic Excellence, Elevating Modernity, Convergence and Connection, and Striving for Excellence. For public administration, the focus should be on "two things to build and two things to eliminate," namely: eliminating bureaucratic inefficiencies and authoritarianism; building a professional workplace culture and fostering a spirit of service and readiness to serve. Regarding management, the focus should be on "four dedications and six clear principles," namely: Dedication, Diligence, Devotion, and Commitment; Clear responsibilities, Clear tasks, Clear authority, Clear accountability, Clear timelines, and Clear results.
Previously, at the meeting of officials and employees for the year 2025, held on January 31, 2026, the "Humanistic Aspiration" was affirmed by Rector Hoang Anh Tuan with specific tasks.
In the joyful atmosphere of the Lunar New Year 2026 (Year of the Horse), the University of Social Sciences and Humanities was honored to receive New Year greetings from Mr. Hoang Minh Son, Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Secretary of the Party Committee, and Director of Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU). Director Hoang Minh Son affirmed that 2026 must be a year of "extremely strong" activities throughout VNU – strong in thinking, strong in action, and strong in results. With a spirit of innovative thinking, decisive action, and effective implementation, VNU identifies the implementation of major Party resolutions not only as a regular political task but also as a mission and opportunity to affirm its position as a leading center for training, research, and innovation in the country.
Happy Lunar New Year of the Horse! Wishing all employees, workers, and their families good health, happiness, peace, success, and groundbreaking achievements!
