The cooperation between the two sides has been implemented since 2020, with phase 1 focusing on developing comprehensive digital competencies for the school's students. This includes building a digital competency framework as a basis for training and assessing students' necessary digital knowledge and skills in the digital age, thereby helping them become global digital citizens. This digital competency framework has been widely used by universities and agencies and organizations nationwide. The team of experts from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities is also working with the Ministry of Education and Training to develop a national digital competency framework for learners.

Building on the success of Phase 1, Meta continues to commit to accompanying Phase 2 with the goal of not only equipping students with the necessary knowledge and skills about Gen AI but also helping lecturers develop academic expertise in this field. AI is strongly impacting all aspects of social life, as users, students and lecturers need to master basic knowledge about AI to use it effectively and responsibly.
Mr. Nick Clegg shared: “Meta is honored to cooperate with the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU. I highly appreciate the results of the first phase of the project with thousands of students trained in digital skills. In the next project, Meta continues to accompany students to access the most advanced AI technology, helping them develop the necessary skills to participate in the global workforce in the digital age.”
The two sides committed to continue implementing activities within the project framework from 2024-2025, focusing on building an AI competency framework, courses, organizing workshops and improving AI skills for both lecturers and students. The project promises to help students of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities equip themselves with the necessary knowledge and skills to participate in future careers related to AI, while helping lecturers develop their teaching and research expertise through the use of AI. The main activities of the project include:
• Develop and implement a competency framework on Gen AI, including specific assessment criteria to determine students' proficiency in using AI-related tools and technologies, and using AI responsibly.
• Develop short-term AI courses for students: short-term courses will be designed to suit the needs of students, thereby providing basic and advanced knowledge of artificial intelligence. Students can apply this knowledge not only in their studies but also in preparation for their future careers.
• Organize in-depth AI courses for lecturers, helping them effectively apply Gen AI in teaching and scientific research. Lecturers in the AI era need to understand AI well to teach and evaluate students.
• Develop a basic course on AI Gen for information management students. This course will help information management students better understand the impact of AI on management decisions and business strategies, helping them better prepare for future challenges.
• Organize a national AI conference to raise awareness about AI and its responsible use. The conference will provide an opportunity for experts, researchers, and students to exchange experiences, update themselves on the latest advances in the field of AI, and promote a deeper understanding of the ethical, legal, and social issues related to the application of AI.
Professor Hoang Anh Tuan, Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, also expressed his appreciation for this cooperation: “Meta has played a very important role in supporting the University to improve digital capacity and artificial intelligence capacity for students and lecturers over the years. We are committed to focusing all resources to successfully implement phase 2 of the project, thereby creating sustainable values for the development of the University and for higher education in Vietnam..”

The cooperation project between Meta and USSH is expected to create breakthroughs in the application and use of Gen AI in higher education, contributing to the training and development of high-quality human resources, actively contributing to the digital transformation process and digital economic development in Vietnam.
