The workshop is within the framework of the research project KX.02.29/21-25 under the National Special Science and Technology Program for the period 2021 - 2025: "Research, application and creative development of Ho Chi Minh's thought in the cause of national construction and defense of the Fatherland in the period of renovation (from 1986 to present, orientation to 2030 and vision to 2045)" chaired by Associate Professor, Dr. Lai Quoc Khanh, Vice Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU.
The workshop was attended by the Board of Directors, members participating in the project, and many scientists from Hanoi National University, universities, research institutes in Hanoi, postgraduate students, trainees, and students studying at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.
In his opening speech at the workshop, Associate Professor Dr. Lai Quoc Khanh emphasized the objectives and main topics of the presentations that will focus on: Analyzing and evaluating the current situation, achievements, limitations, causes, issues, lessons learned in research and application, developing Ho Chi Minh's thoughts on innovation, science, technology and engineering development from 1986 to present. The workshop is a scientific forum for managers and stakeholders to share knowledge, provide information to the host agency and project manager in implementing the project, and announce research results on issues related to the theme of the workshop. The Workshop Organizing Committee has received more than 20 reports that were carefully prepared, serious, and of high scientific value from experts and researchers.
Associate Professor, Dr. Lai Quoc Khanh (Project Manager) and Associate Professor, Dr. Hoang Anh (Deputy Project Manager) chaired the Workshop.
With 12 reports presented, some opinions exchanged and discussed at the Workshop, the delegates focused on clarifying the current situation, achievements, and limitations in the study of Ho Chi Minh's ideology on the development of science and technology, and innovation. On that basis, some lessons were drawn and solutions were proposed: it is necessary to comprehensively and systematically study Ho Chi Minh's ideology on the development of science and technology and must be placed in relation to his entire ideology.
Regarding the current status of applying and developing Ho Chi Minh's ideology in the development of science, technology and innovation, the reports deeply analyze a number of aspects: building guidelines, policies, laws, building human resources, establishing development models, mobilizing resources, national governance, international relations and creating conditions for the development of science and technology, innovation, and the renovation period from 1986 to present. The reports have pointed out the limitations in the current policies and practices of developing science, technology and innovation, and at the same time proposed solutions based on the creative application of Ho Chi Minh's ideology in the current context, in which special emphasis is placed on the need for a breakthrough policy in investing in human resources and making good use of talents - the key factor determining the success of every development strategy.

Dr. Tran Thi Phuc An (University of Mining and Geology) presented a paper: "The current state of research on Ho Chi Minh's ideology related to the development of science and technology, innovation from 1986 to present".
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Chieu (VNU-USSH): "The current situation of applying and creatively developing Ho Chi Minh's ideology in building human resources for science and technology development, innovation, the renovation period, from 1986 to present".
Dr. Duong Tat Thanh (VNU-USSH): "The current situation of applying and creatively developing Ho Chi Minh's ideology in mobilizing resources for science and technology development, innovation, in the renovation period, from 1986 to present.
Dr. Tran Diep Thanh (School of Interdisciplinary Sciences and Arts - VNU) presented a paper: "The current situation of applying and creatively developing Ho Chi Minh's thoughts in policies and laws on science and technology development, innovation, and the renovation period, from 1986 to present".
Dr. Dao Dinh Tuan (Ministry of National Defense Political Academy) presented a paper: "Lessons learned in applying and creatively developing Ho Chi Minh's thought in developing science and technology, innovation, and the renovation period, from 1986 to present".
Concluding the Workshop, Associate Professor Dr. Lai Quoc Khanh, on behalf of the Project Management Board, thanked the scientists for their responsible and effective participation and for sharing valuable information and research results. Based on the proposals of the scientists in today's Workshop, the Management Board will carefully consider and determine the contents and issues that need to be further improved and expanded.
According to Associate Professor, Dr. Lai Quoc Khanh, in 2024, within the framework of the research project KX.02.29/21-25, the Project Management Board will organize 03 workshops and 15 discussions. After today's workshop, in mid-October, the Project Management Board will continue to organize a large-scale workshop attracting the participation of scientists, managers, organizations, businesses at the central and local levels, etc. The Project Manager also hopes to continue to receive attention, participation and comments from scientists.
