The collaboration between the two sides began in 2020, with Phase 1 focusing on developing comprehensive digital competencies for the university's students. This included building a digital competency framework as a basis for training and assessing the necessary digital knowledge and skills of students in the digital age, thereby helping them become global digital citizens. This digital competency framework has been widely used by universities and agencies/organizations nationwide. The expert team from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities is also working with the Ministry of Education and Training to develop a national digital competency framework for learners.

Building on the success of Phase 1, Meta continues its commitment to Phase 2 with the goal of not only equipping students with the necessary knowledge and skills in Gen AI but also helping faculty members develop their academic expertise in this field. AI is profoundly impacting all aspects of social life; as users, students and faculty need to master the fundamentals of AI to use it effectively and responsibly.

Nick Clegg shared:Meta is honored to collaborate with the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi. I highly appreciate the results of the first phase of the project, which trained thousands of students in digital skills. In the next phase, Meta will continue to support students in accessing the most advanced AI technologies, helping them develop the necessary skills to participate in the global workforce in the digital age.

Both parties are committed to continuing the project's activities from 2024-2025, focusing on building an AI competency framework, courses, workshops, and enhancing AI skills for both faculty and students. The project promises to equip students at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities with the necessary knowledge and skills to participate in future careers related to AI, while also helping faculty develop their teaching and research expertise through the use of AI. The main activities of the project include:
• Develop and implement a competency framework for Gen AI, including specific assessment criteria to determine students' proficiency in using AI-related tools and technologies, and using AI responsibly.
• Develop short-term AI courses for students: These courses will be designed to meet students' needs, providing foundational and advanced knowledge in artificial intelligence. Students can apply this knowledge not only in their studies but also in preparing for their future careers.

• Organize in-depth AI courses for faculty members, helping them effectively apply Gen AI in teaching and scientific research. Faculty members in the AI era need a thorough understanding of AI to teach and assess students.
• Develop foundational courses on Gen AI for information management students. This course will help information management students better understand the impact of AI on management decisions and business strategies, helping them better prepare for future challenges.
• Organize a national AI workshop to raise awareness about AI and its responsible use. The workshop will provide an opportunity for experts, researchers, and students to exchange experiences, update on the latest advances in the field of AI, and promote a deeper understanding of the ethical, legal, and social issues related to AI applications.
Professor Hoang Anh Tuan, Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, also expressed his appreciation for this collaboration:Meta has played a crucial role in supporting the University in enhancing the digital and artificial intelligence capabilities of its students and faculty over the years. We are committed to focusing all our resources on successfully implementing Phase 2 of the project, thereby creating sustainable value for the development of the University and for higher education in Vietnam..

The collaborative project between Meta and the University of Social Sciences and Humanities is expected to create breakthroughs in the application and use of Gen AI in higher education, contributing to the training and development of high-quality human resources, and making a positive contribution to the digital transformation and development of the digital economy in Vietnam.
