As in previous years, the study did not change in the measurement and evaluation tools when the research team updated the database of more than 100 thousand most cited scientists (from Scopus data source) and ranked them based on important criteria such as: impact index in the scientific community (composite score); total number of citations (excluding self-citations); Hirsch h-index; Schreiber hm-index; number of citations for articles published as the sole author (single author); number of citations for articles with the main author (first name - first author and corresponding author - corresponding author), and last author - last author.
Scientists are divided into 22 scientific fields and 176 subfields (disciplines/specialties).
According to the latest ranking just updated and published on October 10, 2022, among the Vietnamese scientists who are regularly working in the country, there are 2 scientists in the world's top 10,000 and 34 scientists in the top 100,000 most influential scientists in the world in 2022.
The two scientists ranked high in the world's top 10,000 are Professor Nguyen Dinh Duc and Associate Professor Le Hoang Son, both from Hanoi National University.
In order of this ranking, Associate Professor Dr. Le Hoang Son ranked 5817 and position 222 in the field of Information Technology and Communications, Professor Dr. Nguyen Dinh Duc ranked 7455 and position 94 in the world in the field of Engineering.
