I. Scope of application
This guide applies to students in standard and high-quality training programs of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.
II. Regulations on bonus points for students' scientific research achievements
1.Bonus points for scientific research projects of award-winning students are added to the semester's average score and cumulative average score to serve as a basis for considering scholarships, transfer to graduate school and other benefits, and are not used to classify academic performance or determine graduation rank.
2. Bonus points are determined as follows:
a) Won awards at Hanoi National University or Ministry of Education and Training level:
First prize: 0.20 point
Second prize: 0.15 points
Third prize: 0.10 points
Encouragement prize: 0.07 points
b) Won awards at training unit level:
First prize: 0.10 point
Second prize: 0.07 points
Third prize: 0.05 point
If a scientific research project is carried out by many students, the bonus points will be divided equally among the participating students.
3.If a student wins multiple scientific research awards at different levels, bonus points will only be added once at the highest award level.
4.Scientific research work is counted as a thesis or essay; can replace a conditional elective subject in the field of knowledge that will be accumulated in the general learning results of the semester; can be taken into account when considering scholarships, post-graduate studies and other benefits, if the following conditions are met:
a) The Faculty Council will evaluate and give a score (on a 10-point scale) and decide which course to replace in the training program of the major; If the scientific research project is carried out by many students, the students will enjoy the same benefits;
b) Students have wishes.
III. Procedure for adding scientific research bonus points to semester GPA and cumulative GPA to serve as a basis for scholarship consideration, transfer consideration to graduate school and transfer consideration of equivalent course credits
3.1. Process of awarding scientific research bonus points for scholarship consideration
1- The Department of Scientific Research Management is responsible for sending the Decision on recognition of students with scientific research achievements to training units and the Department of Politics and Student Affairs after each scientific research conference at all levels.
2- The Department of Politics and Student Affairs, based on the Decision to recognize students with scientific research achievements, adds bonus points to the average results of the semester or the average cumulative score at the time the student achieves scientific research achievements to consider scholarships within and outside the budget for students in accordance with current regulations.
3-Training units are responsible for coordinating with the Department of Politics and Student Affairs to add bonus points for scientific research and consider scholarships for students with scientific research achievements.
3.2 Consideration for transfer to postgraduate study
1- The Department of Scientific Research Management is responsible for sending the Decision on recognition of students with scientific research achievements to Training after each scientific research conference at all levels.
2. The Training Department, based on the Decision to recognize students with scientific research achievements, adds scientific research bonus points to the cumulative average score for graduated students who wish to transfer to postgraduate level (Students write an application according to Form 01). The graduation transcript is clearly stated "For graduated students with scientific research achievements to consider transferring to postgraduate level". At the same time, consider transferring to postgraduate level for students according to current regulations.
3.3 Consider transferring equivalent credits in the training program
- Training units, based on the Decision on recognizing students with scientific research achievements sent by the Department of Scientific Research Management, notify students about the plan to consider transferring equivalent credits in the training program.
- Students wishing to transfer equivalent credits in the training program must write a request to the training unit (Students write a request according to form 02) for approval.
- The academic advisor is responsible for advising the student on appropriate courses that can be considered for transfer of equivalent credits and signing the student's request.
- Training units, based on the student's request, establish a Faculty Council to evaluate and decide which credits to transfer in the training program of the major. After the Faculty Council completes the evaluation and grading, the training units complete the application for transferring equivalent credits in the training program and send it to the School (through the Training Department). The application includes: Student's request; Minutes of the Training Science Council Meeting; Official dispatch requesting transfer of equivalent credits for students with achievements in scientific research.
- The Training Department shall base on the application file for equivalent score transfer from training units; Based on the regulations on bonus points for scientific research achievements of students, draft the Decision to recognize the results of equivalent score transfer for eligible students, submit to the Board of Directors for approval and issue the Decision.
