4 scientists of VNU continue in the world research.com rankings in 2023

On September 1, 2023, the website Research.com announced the results of the ranking of world scientists with outstanding achievements in scientific publication in 2023.

Four scientists from Hanoi National University continue to be named in the world rankings and lead Vietnam in 3 fields in 2023: Prof. Dr. Nguyen Dinh Duc - Engineering and Technology; 2 professors Prof. Dr. Pham Hung Viet, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tu Binh Minh - Environmental Science and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Hoang Son - Information Technology.
Regarding the ranking method of Research.com, the evaluation system is based on the D-index of scientists - this is the H-index and the number of articles by field of scientists on the database system of IEEE, ACL, Springer, AAAI, USENIX, Elsevier, ACM and LIPIcs. In this ranking, the Research.com website reviewed the data of 166,880 scientists with the world's top publication and citation productivity.
Research.com divides into 24 areas for ranking, which are: Animail Science and Veterinary; Biology and Biochemistry; Business and Maanagement; Chemistry; Computer Science; Earth Science; Ecology and Evolution; Economics and Finance; Electronics and Electrical Engineering; Engineering and Technology; Environmental Sciences; Genetics and Molecular Biology; Immunology; Law and Political Science; Mathematics; Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering; Medicine; Microbiology and Neuroscience.
In these 24 fields, 14 Vietnamese scientists (an increase of 3 people compared to last year) were recorded in 6 fields in the Research.com rankings: Engineering Technology, Environmental Science, Computer Science, Materials Science, Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering and Community Medicine and Social Sciences.
Interestingly, the Vietnamese scientists ranked are all from universities, all are leaders of strong research groups. And Hanoi National University is leading, with 4 scientists ranked in the world in all 3 fields: Engineering Technology, Environmental Science, Computer Science.
The above statistics reflect the continuous progress, efforts and integration of Vietnamese scientists, the fields in which Vietnam is recognized on the world's scientific map.
At the same time, it also shows that Vietnamese science and technology must continue to strive more. We must invest more in scientists, strong research groups, universities and key spearheads, so that Vietnamese science and technology can increasingly rise, approach international standards and levels, integrate more strongly, and stand shoulder to shoulder with world science.
