In his opening speech, Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan (Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities) expressed his deep gratitude for the valuable companionship and support of the NAFOSTED Foundation for the University's scientists in scientific research, publishing and publication activities. Rector Hoang Anh Tuan shared more: Currently, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities is training and researching in all fields of Social Sciences and Humanities, with a team of more than 400 scientific staff with PhD degrees or higher, including many leading professors participating and leading many national, ministerial and local level projects. However, the number of projects that have been and are being implemented has not fully exploited the potential and available resources of the University. Therefore, we hope that the NAFOSTED Foundation will continue to support scientists to access a variety of financial resources to expand scientific research activities, serving the development strategy of the Social Sciences and Humanities sector not only in Vietnam but also reaching the regional and world levels.

Sharing at the meeting, Associate Professor Dr. Dao Ngoc Chien (Director of the National Foundation for Science and Technology Development) highly appreciated the research achievements and contributions of scientists of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities with its position as a leading unit in training and research in the field of Social Sciences and Humanities in Vietnam. The Director of NAFOSTED Fund shared more: Currently, with the birth of Resolution 57-NQ/TW and Resolution 193/2025/QH15, it can be said that it is a breakthrough in the policy mechanism for science and technology development, many inherent bottlenecks and bottlenecks have been cleared, creating conditions for scientists to be able to research and innovate with peace of mind. In addition, the investment fund for basic science, Social Sciences and Humanities is more open, the registration and approval procedures for topics are also shortened, the payment procedures are also streamlined, and at the same time, greater autonomy and self-responsibility are given to the units in charge of topics. In approving funding sources for topics, a certain amount of funding is also allocated for training support (masters, PhD students), improving the quality of journals, communication, disseminating new knowledge and research results.
Those fundamental innovations will create conditions and encourage scientists to freely create and propose research ideas, without limits on quantity, especially breakthrough ideas, leading the development trend of the country and the world.

Based on the characteristics of research in the field of Social Sciences and Humanities, the output products are not only announcements and publications but also valuable policy advice for ministries, branches and localities. Vice Principal Dang Thi Thu Huong hopes that in the process of reviewing topics, the Fund can pay attention to this criterion. In addition, scientists hope that the Fund can organize more forums, seminars, and exchanges with organizations and businesses, so that scientists have the opportunity to access more support sources and at the same time can immediately apply research results, bringing science into real life.
