The seminar was attended by scientists from Sejong Korean Language Center Hanoi, Faculty of Linguistics, Vietnamese Language and Vietnam Studies; University of Languages and International Studies, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, Hinode Binh Minh Foreign Language Center and interested people.
In recent years, in Vietnam, the interest in Korean language education for young people has been increasing. The international seminar “Current situation and development direction of Korean language education for young people in Vietnam” organized by King Sejong Institute Hanoi 1 aims to enhance cooperation and exchange between Korean language education institutions in Vietnam, and at the same time seek development directions for Korean language education in the future.
This is also an opportunity for experts in the field of Korean language education to share and exchange diverse knowledge and practical experiences, which is a great driving force contributing to promoting the development of Korean language education in Vietnam.
Associate Professor, Dr. Dang Hong Son - Vice Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi delivered the opening speech of the seminar.The workshop focused on discussing the following contents: Theoretical issues and methods of teaching Korean to Vietnamese teenagers; Problems and current situation of teaching Korean to teenagers in Vietnam; Finding solutions for teaching Korean to teenagers in Vietnam.

Dr. Le Thi Thu Giang - Director of King Sejong Academy Hanoi 1 presented a paper on the topic "Korean language education for Vietnamese youth - viewed from resources and trends of learners"
Ms. Nguyen Phuong Ly (Hinode Binh Minh Foreign Language Center) presented a paper on "The current situation of teaching Korean to Vietnamese students in Hanoi"As a leading research and training center in Vietnam in the field of social sciences and humanities, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi has made many important contributions to Korean studies training in Vietnam, contributing to promoting friendly cooperation between the two countries. The school has signed many cooperation documents with partners in Korea and always supports the development of Korean language and culture training in Vietnam.
Over the years, King Sejong Academy, specifically King Sejong Academy Hanoi 1, headquartered at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, has made practical contributions to arousing the love and passion for learning and researching Korean language and culture among the young generation of Vietnam.
In May 2024, King Sejong Academy organized an international scientific conference on standardizing Korean translation and interpretation training in Vietnam, contributing to promoting cooperation and experience exchange between educational institutions providing Korean language training in Vietnam on the issue of Korean translation and interpretation training.
King Sejong Academyis an organization sponsored by the Korean Government to promote Korean language and culture education worldwide. As of 2022, the King Sejong network has 244 facilities in 84 countries, of which Vietnam has 23 facilities operating nationwide.
In Vietnam,Sejong Korean Language Center Hanoi (King Sejong Hanoi 1)is a unit under the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi. The center organizes short-term courses, exams and grants Korean language certificates of the King Sejong Foundation, as well as courses on Korean language and culture for Vietnamese people.
Sejong Korean Language Center Hanoi 1 aims to international standards thanks to the cooperation between the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and Busan Foreign Language School (Korea). Thanks to diverse training programs, high-quality teaching staff and professional management, the Center conducts training programs and organizes Korean language certification exams that meet Korean national standards.
