In his opening remarks at the workshop, Professor Pham Quang Minh, the Rector, shared his thoughts on the importance of studying health behaviors in modern society: "Proper behavior, good conduct, a good way of life, and a healthy lifestyle are crucial issues for society today. The health and good lifestyle of each individual are top concerns for the community. If our citizens exhibit good behavior, we will certainly have a healthy society. However, currently, we cannot independently manage and adjust our behavior because society is facing so many difficulties and threats. We ourselves may not be able to solve these problems or make adjustments. Therefore, society urgently needs psychological counseling experts to help treat and adjust the behavior of each individual."

The Rector also emphasized that mental health behavior is currently a global issue, requiring cooperation to share experiences. Therefore, the international scientific conference "Health Behavior in Modern Society," organized at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities - VNU Hanoi in collaboration with the Institute of Psychology, University of Gdansk (Republic of Poland) and the National Institute of Mental Health, is of great significance to Vietnamese psychology experts in sharing experiences from countries with strong foundations in comprehensive healthcare for their citizens..

Professor Nguyen Huu Thu (Faculty of Psychology) further explained the conference's theme: The presentations at the conference not only address mental health issues but also delve into issues related to healthcare policies and systems in different countries around the world. The presentations aim to answer the question of how human health behavior in the contemporary world can be adapted to the era of Industry 4.0. In addition, Vietnamese scientists will have the opportunity to learn how developed countries have addressed these issues. For example: issues concerning human health behavior in the workplace, how to care for people with mental health problems, and how to foster a sense of well-being in them in the contemporary world. In particular, reports from Polish scientists vividly presented the Polish mental health care system – how they transformed their system from the socialist era to a market-based mechanism? How can they create an adaptive healthcare system in this new stage of development? Vietnam is also undergoing a transition, sharing many similarities with this stage of development in Poland, and can learn many valuable lessons from their experience.

Nearly 50 scientific papers by Vietnamese and foreign scientists were presented at the conference, focusing on topics related to human health behaviors in modern society such as: health in the workplace, school, and factory; health after natural disasters; health in the face of climate change; health and social media use; perceptions of happiness, etc.

Beyond providing a comprehensive overview of human health behaviors, the presentations also fully introduced issues related to healthcare policies and systems in many countries around the world, as well as how developed countries have addressed human health issues in the age of robotics and artificial intelligence.
