The discussion was attended by Mr. Philip Degenhart (Director of the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation for Southeast Asia), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dao Thanh Truong (Director of the Institute of Policy and Management, Head of the Faculty of Management Science), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Anh Tuan (Head of the Faculty of Philosophy), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Anh Cuong (Deputy Head of the Faculty of Political Science), along with more than 40 experts, lecturers, researchers, and students from various units. Also participating was Dr. Joachim Spangenberg (Research Coordinator, Vice President of the SERI Institute for Sustainable European Studies, Germany) - one of Germany's leading experts in interdisciplinary socio-economic research.
Speaking at the discussion, Mr. Philip Degenhart introduced the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation's Southeast Asia Regional Office and expressed his expectations for future research collaboration with the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.


Philip Degenhart presented publications from the Foundation to representatives of the leadership of the units.
For his part, Professor Michael Brie shared and exchanged views with experts on the development of socialism and the economic, ecological, and social transformation in European countries. The presentation received 15 comments and discussions on topics such as the history of social development, the responsibility of businesses towards social development, the sharing economy, and the manifestations and efforts of socialist countries in the current period.

At the end of the discussion, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dao Thanh Truong and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Anh Tuan expressed their gratitude to Prof. Michael Brie and Dr. Joachim Spangenberg. They also hoped that the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation would continue to invite German experts to exchange ideas on new research topics, promoting cooperation between the Vietnamese academic community and the world, especially the Federal Republic of Germany.

During his visit to Vietnam, Professor Michael Brie also gave presentations at the Institute of Philosophy (Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences) and the Institute of Political Science, Institute of Scientific Socialism (Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics). Associate Professor Dr. Dao Thanh Truong (Director of the Institute of Policy and Management) participated in academic exchanges with leading Vietnamese experts on development theory and issues of economic, ecological, and social transformation.
