The auditorium at Columbia University was packed for a scientific meeting and discussion between American and Vietnamese scientists who have all spent years researching Ho Chi Minh's ideology. Therefore, the seminar was more lively than expected. This was the observation of the Vietnam Television correspondent based in the United States.

“Global Ho Chi Minh” is the second international conference on this topic held at a major Western university. The first conference took place in 1990 at the University of Passau (Germany) with the participation of 300 scholars and delegates from many countries. This conference was held at Columbia University – one of the largest universities in the US and the world. At this conference, scientists and delegates engaged in frank and open discussions in a serious and objective academic spirit about Ho Chi Minh, thereby affirming the values of Ho Chi Minh in the context of rapidly evolving globalization.
