Prof. Dr. Vuong Dinh Quyen, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Quy Phuong... and the faculty and staff of the department, students from various courses.

To begin the program, Dr. Dao Duc Thuan, Head of the Department of Archival Studies and Office Management, reviewed the process of preparing and completing the department's book.
Stemming from the collective wishes of the faculty and students in the department, since January 2016, the Department's Board of Directors has established a book organizing and drafting committee consisting of 4 members: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vu Thi Phung, Chairperson of the Scientific and Training Council of the Faculty of Law, Administration and Public Relations; Dr. Dao Duc Thuan, Head of Department; Dr. Cam Anh Tuan, Vice Head of Department; and Ms. Do Thu Hien, M.Sc., as secretary.
After nearly a year of preparation, the monograph"Some Issues Regarding Archives - History and Publication of Archival Documents"The book by Meritorious Teacher, Associate Professor Nguyen Van Ham has been officially published for readers.
This product is not only a valuable scientific document but also a testament to the continuous efforts of the Department of Archival Studies and Office Management in general, and Associate Professor Nguyen Van Ham in particular.
On behalf of the Faculty Board, Dr. Dao Duc Thuan also extended his gratitude to the distinguished guests who, despite their busy schedules, came to share their thoughts and congratulate the author and the faculty as a whole.

Associate Professor, Doctor of Science, Meritorious Teacher Vu Thi Phung, Chair of the Scientific and Training Council of the Department of Archival Studies and Office Management, on behalf of the department and the author, gave a general introduction to the book. The content and ideas of the book focus on three very distinct research directions of Associate Professor, Meritorious Teacher Nguyen Van Ham:
Firstly, there are studies demonstrating the relationship between Archival Studies and History. Associate Professor and Meritorious Teacher Nguyen Van Ham has conducted numerous studies on Vietnamese history, particularly the history of agencies and organizations. These studies have been used in lectures for students majoring in Archival Studies, helping them understand the agencies and organizations that produce archival documents.

Secondly, there are studies on archival documents and archival work of Party agencies and socio-political organizations in Vietnam. Several decades ago, these articles were the first pioneering steps, providing basic knowledge and contributing to the training of archival staff for agencies within the Party and Youth Union systems.
Thirdly, there are studies on Publication Studies. Associate Professor and Meritorious Teacher Nguyen Van Ham is recognized by the Vietnamese archival community as a leading expert in Publication Studies. He has dozens of in-depth studies in this field. His research not only provides a theoretical overview but also summarizes practical experiences and points out principles and methods for publishing and introducing archival documents for application in Vietnam...

Associate Professor and Meritorious Teacher Vuong Dinh Quyen delivered a congratulatory speech.
At the ceremony, Associate Professor and Meritorious Teacher Vuong Dinh Quyen extended his congratulations to the faculty and to the author: As someone who is always diligent in learning and research, at the age of 72, Associate Professor and Meritorious Teacher Nguyen Van Ham still makes practical contributions to the faculty and the University.
Associate Professor Vuong Dinh Quyen hopes that in the near future, Associate Professor Nguyen Van Ham, along with his friends and students, will continue to publish another book on the theoretical aspects of Publication Studies, a field in which he is one of the leading experts in Vietnam.
At the presentation, many teachers and friends sent their best wishes and congratulations to Associate Professor Nguyen Van Ham in particular and the entire Department of Archival Studies and Office Management in general on the occasion of the completion of another new scientific research project.

Author introduction box Associate Professor and Meritorious Teacher Nguyen Van Ham is one of the pioneers who laid the foundation for the field of Archival Studies in Vietnam. He was born in 1944. After graduating from the History Department, he and several other students were retained and became the first staff members of the Department of Archival Studies. Starting in the 1967-1968 academic year, he and his colleagues conducted research, translated, and consulted foreign materials to develop their first lectures. In 1996, when the Department of Archival Studies was developed into the Faculty of Archival Studies and Office Management, he served as Head of the Faculty from 1996 to 2004 and as Head of the Department of Archival Studies (1993-2000); and Chairman of the Faculty's Scientific and Training Council from 2005 to 2009. Throughout his more than 40 years of work and teaching, he has made numerous contributions to the theoretical development of archival studies through his published works in various forms such as textbooks, lectures, and journals. These are valuable reference materials for many generations of students in the fields of Archival Studies and Office Management. In recognition of his contributions, in 2005, the State awarded him the Third-Class Labor Medal. In 2006, he was bestowed the title of Outstanding Teacher. This is a well-deserved reward for the significant contributions he has made throughout half a century of dedicated work. |
