With her striking appearance and outstanding talent, Dinh Thi Hai Yen, a student from the Faculty of Information and Library Science, won the runner-up title in the final round of the "The Face USSH 2021" competition held recently.

Dinh Thi Hai Yen, born in 2001, is from Hai Phong and is currently a third-year student in the Information Management program at the Faculty of Information and Library Science. Sharing her expectations before the competition, she said: “I participated in the program simply because I wanted to position myself in a light that had never shone before, hoping that the light from my heart could touch the hearts of others.”

Dinh Thi Hai Yen became one of the outstanding contestants of "The Face USSH".

This year's competition is held online, requiring contestants to handle every step themselves, from preparation and idea generation to filming and performance… “It’s a little disappointing that the competition has to be held online, so the contestants, organizers, and mentors can only see each other through a screen. But that’s okay, I think all the contestants are amazing,” Hai Yen confided.
Having progressed through several rounds of competition, the group activity in the "Ambassador of Compassion" segment left the strongest impression on you. As the team leader, Hai Yen paid close attention to connecting the members, sometimes chatting with them late into the night to get to know each other better. The whole group also scheduled a meeting after the pandemic situation stabilized.

Team Dang Hieu Duc, led by Hai Yen, received much praise and was the first-place team.

In the talent competition at the "The Face USSH 2021" final, Hai Yen chose to perform Michael Jackson's "Heal the World." Notably, she wrote the Vietnamese lyrics herself, fitting the message of thanking the "white-coat warriors" and spreading the message of working together to fight Covid and protect the planet.
After the competition, Hai Yen continued to focus on her studies and preparing for internships at various companies. She also completed a year-long internship at Tinasoft Vietnam, while still managing to balance her personal activities and plans.

With her beautiful appearance, energetic personality, and talent, her Instagram account (justboo.103) attracts a significant number of followers.

Besides her beautiful appearance, Hai Yen is also a girl passionate about singing. Currently, she holds the position of vocalist at the University of Humanities Guitar Club (UGC) and the Faculty of Law's Art Club (AC).

The female student is passionate about singing and participates in clubs both inside and outside of school.

“UGC and AC are two places where I feel confident entrusting my passion. Everyone is incredibly talented and wonderful, and they feel like family to me!” - Hai Yen feels happy to have met many people who share the same passion, growing together and fulfilling their dreams.
The female student often participates in music shows such as the Freshman Welcome Show, the Charity Music Night organized by the Hai Phong Alumni Association of the Foreign Trade University, programs of the Faculty of Information and Library Science, and the Impasso Show at Hidden Club. In addition, she also does voiceovers and appears in trailers for the show “HANOI, YOU AND I” by the Humanities Guitar Club.
Through these opportunities, Hai Yen became even more enthusiastic in her training, forgetting her fatigue because of happiness, which helped her realize new values within herself. However, at the present time, Yen's direction is not focused on music but on nurturing it as she nurtures her own spirit.
With a heavy workload, Yen sometimes feels unbalanced and stressed. During those times, she gives herself a day off to rest, eat, and listen to music. “Because I think everything happens for a reason. I’m too young to feel unbalanced and exhausted, so I know how to recover quickly. After a day of rest, I have double the energy to work.”
One of the things Yen is extremely proud of is her family. She shared that her parents and older brother always follow her activities and enthusiastically support all her choices. Her father is a soldier, meticulous in raising his children, and her mother is her friend, someone she confides in about all her joys and sorrows. Her family is a strong source of emotional support that helps her overcome many difficulties in life.

Recently, Hai Yen has also ventured into modeling for clothing brands.

To further motivate young people, Hai Yen said: “We are young, so when we have the opportunity, don't be shy. Strive to express yourself, explore your abilities and qualities as much as possible. Beauty is not just about outward appearance; it also lies deep within your soul and spirit. Everyone is beautiful in their own unique way. Discover yourself and let yourself shine.”
