THE FACE USSH 2021 Finals: Brilliant and exhilarating, filled with shining hearts.

Nguyen Thi Phuong Anh, Vice President of the Student Union of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, representing the competition's organizing committee, stated: “In the context of the complex pandemic situation, students at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities have switched to online learning for over six months, so the Youth Union and Student Union of the University have converted all activities to an online format. The Face USSH 2021 competition, part of the 'Taking Flight - Welcoming New Students of K66 USSH' series of activities, is no exception. This is the first time the university's youth have had such a long-term online program, spanning over two months. This is also the first time a student beauty contest at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities has been organized in a format similar to many popular reality TV shows such as The Face Online and The Next Face.”
Embracing the adaptability and creativity of the youth of the Faculty of Humanities, the Youth Union and Student Association of the University flexibly transformed The Face USSH from a familiar student face-finding contest into the first online reality show at the Faculty of Humanities. The entire organization was conducted 100% online via video calling software and livestreaming on social media, marking a groundbreaking transformation amidst the challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic.
On September 25, 2021, The Face USSH 2021 competition officially launched. With the theme “Shining Heart,” the competition provides a platform for young people to enhance their knowledge and skills while finding a representative face for the university's youth, embodying elegance, dynamism, intelligence, and compassion. After diverse and challenging rounds, 12 outstanding student contestants from various departments of the university have been revealed. Excitement, intrigue, and professionalism – these are the elements that fueled the competition's increasing intensity in the final round.

            The Face USSH 2021 Grand Finale also features a panel of experienced guest judges in the beauty industry and other fields, including:Beauty with a Heart - Top 5 Miss Vietnam 2020 Huynh Nguyen Mai Phuong; TV presenter/MC Tran Hanh Phuc and mentors: Friendly Beauty - Top 10 Miss Universe Vietnam 2019 Luong Y Nhu; Mr. Universe Earth 2019 Vu Hieu Duc; Winner of Vietnam Fitness Model 2019 Dat Kyo.

The judges, mentors, and top 12 contestants participated in the final night.

The catwalk, talent, and Q&A segments of the final round, featuring 12 contestants at 12 studio locations nationwide, captivated a large audience with their dramatic and intense competition. The atmosphere finally erupted when the judges announced the results: the winner was La Duong Lieu (born in 2001) – a beautiful, intelligent, and dynamic young woman with compelling performances and strong character! La Duong Lieu also successfully won the "Intellectual Ambassador" award thanks to her extensive knowledge across many fields, problem-solving abilities, and confident and poised demeanor during the Q&A segment.

In an interview after the Grand Finale, winner Duong Lieu emotionally shared: “I feel very happy and honored. Honored to be able to become the representative face of the students of the Faculty of Humanities, and happy that all my efforts throughout the competition have been deservedly rewarded. Each contestant has their own unique beauty, style, and personality. But I dedicated a lot of passion and high determination to all the rounds. I always showed confidence and spread positive energy to everyone.”

Nong Huyen Thuong - Goodwill Ambassador, First Runner-up of The Face USSH 2021: “Perseverance in the face of challenges, there were days when I wondered if I could continue; but then I told myself to try harder, even harder because I'm young, just keep going! This competition is a meaningful experience in my youth journey. THANK YOU THE FACE USSH 2021!”

Dinh Thi Hai Yen - 2nd Runner-up of The Face USSH: “I participated in the program simply because I wanted to define my own identity in a light that had never shone before, hoping that the light from my heart could touch the hearts of others… We are young, when we have the opportunity, don't be shy, strive to express yourself, explore yourself as much as possible. Beauty is not just in outward appearance, beauty lies in the soul. Everyone is beautiful in their own unique way, discover yourself and let yourself shine.”

The Face USSH 2021 – a creative and flexible transformation of the youth of the Faculty of Humanities – has left us with unforgettable impressions. Hai Linh, an audience member of the competition, shared: “Having to study online at home made us feel quite bored, but thanks to the activities organized by the Youth Union and Student Association, especially The Face USSH, I no longer feel that way. The contestants are truly talented, and each round of the competition made me excited and eager to see what would happen every day.”
Not only Linh, but many other students also said that even though they are currently studying online due to the pandemic, they don't feel distant from school. On the contrary, they look forward to seeing each other again even more thanks to following and participating in the activities of the Youth Union and Student Association of the University.
