These days, the people of Hanoi are excitedly preparing for the biggest sporting event in Southeast Asia - the 31st Sea Games. Joining in this vibrant atmosphere, the first youth project "Youthful Energy for the 31st Sea Games" by students of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities was officially completed on April 10th, giving the Ha Dong District Gymnasium a dazzling new look in the colors of the Sea Games.

Students from the Faculty of Management Science's Student Union and the Faculty of Sociology are determined to contribute their small part to this major sporting event in Southeast Asia.

The 31st SEA Games is the largest sporting event in Southeast Asia, hosted by Vietnam, taking place in Hanoi and 11 neighboring provinces and cities, featuring 40 sports with 526 events. Nineteen years after the 22nd SEA Games, Hanoi is once again honored to be chosen as the venue for the Opening Ceremony, the Closing Ceremony, and the competition venues for 19 sports at the 31st Southeast Asian Games.

Efforts were made to give the Ha Dong District Gymnasium a "new look," thereby demonstrating the warm welcome of the people of Hanoi to friends and athletes from Southeast Asia.

Recognizing the significance and importance of this major political and sporting event, closely following the directives of the Central Committee and the National Steering Committee for SEA Games 31, and with the efforts of the entire political system of the city, the preparation of facilities for the competitions in the SEA Games 31 program, as well as the decoration and visual promotion work throughout the city, has been basically completed, ready to welcome the great Southeast Asian sporting event. For a capital city with a thousand years of history, a heroic capital, a city for peace, a creative city, a charming, elegant, and hospitable capital, for a more beautiful Hanoi - Vietnam in the eyes of international friends, this is the action of every citizen living and working in the capital.

As students living and studying in Hanoi, with youthful energy and a desire to contribute, the Youth Union members of the Faculty of Management Science and the Faculty of Sociology at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities - Vietnam National University, Hanoi, have resolved to contribute their small part to this major Southeast Asian sporting event. The youth project "Youthful Energy for SEA Games 31," part of the "Igniting the Flame" activities in March - Youth Month, aims to convey a spirit of enthusiasm and optimism to young people.

Above all, the activity showcased the creativity, talent, and ever-burning volunteer spirit of the humanities students. The program also connected young people eager to contribute to the community, while providing a platform for them to network and develop essential soft skills for the 4.0 era.

The youth project "Youthful Spirit with SEA Games 31," part of the "Igniting the Flame" series of activities in March - Youth Month, aims to convey a spirit of enthusiasm and optimism to young people.

“Youthful Spirit for SEA Games 31” is also the first youth project focused on the SEA Games to be implemented and completed in Hanoi. The program was organized with the aim of giving the Ha Dong District Gymnasium a “new look,” demonstrating the warm welcome of the people of Hanoi to friends and athletes from Southeast Asia.

To complete the 42 paintings depicting sports and the picturesque natural landscapes of Vietnam, the team carefully considered everything from the condition of the stadium walls to the conceptualization process, volunteer recruitment, and other logistical arrangements.

Speaking with reporters, Tran Thi Hong Quyen, the team leader of the Youth Project, said: “The students and youth union members of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities are always ready to dedicate their efforts and talents to bring rich and beautiful values ​​to the country. Each student contributes a little of their strength to the recovery of the country after months of fighting the Covid-19 pandemic.”

Truong My Hoa, Deputy Team Leader of the Youth Project "Youth Power with SEA Games 31," also shared: "Creating murals at the stadium – where a large number of athletes from Southeast Asian countries gather – is an opportunity for Vietnam to leave a special mark on the participating countries at the Games. This is also an opportunity to spread the youthful, daring spirit of Vietnamese students to international friends. Vietnamese students are always ready to act for 'a stronger Vietnam'."

For Than Thi Phuong Trang, a member of the Executive Committee of the Faculty of Management Science Student Union at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, she couldn't hide her emotion and pride at participating in this meaningful and practical program. She said: “With the tireless efforts of students from the two faculties in particular, and students from the entire university in general, our youth project has been successfully completed. As a native of Bac Giang, I am very happy and proud to have contributed my small efforts alongside the people of Hanoi to welcome this important sporting event.”

Through these drawings, we want to send our international friends a warm welcome and the friendliness of Hanoi, the thousand-year-old capital of culture. I also want to encourage the athletes, especially the Vietnamese national team members, to excel in their competitions and bring the best results for our country.”

It is known that the Ha Dong District Gymnasium is the venue for the billiards competition, featuring top players from Southeast Asia. Many athletes, including outstanding Vietnamese players such as Quyet Chien and Canh Phuc, and Efren Reyes (Philippines), are among the world's top billiards players.

Hopefully, with the best wishes from the students of the Faculty of Management Science and the Faculty of Sociology's Student Union and Student Association, the Vietnamese National Billiards team will perform excellently and continue to successfully defend Vietnam's Billiards title at the SEA Games 31.
