During the bitterly cold winter days, somewhere around Hanoi, there are still homeless people and poor laborers struggling to make ends meet. The cold makes things even more difficult for them, as they have to find ways to fight not only hunger but also the cold. Therefore, the Faculty of Tourism Studies, in collaboration with the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of Thinh Liet Ward, wants to help and share with these unfortunate lives by providing compassionate meals through the "Warm Kitchen of Humanity 2022" program.

From early morning, all the team members were present, each with their own task...
In the mild, slightly humid weather of a March weekend, the kitchen at 140/1277 Giai Phong Street was bustling with activity as many members and volunteers of the "Warm Kitchen for Humanity" campaign participated. In just a few hours, the meals were prepared. All of these meals were loaded onto trucks and delivered directly to each impoverished worker. The meals were nutritious, but above all, they represented the compassion of the campaign participants and benefactors for the poor and those in difficult circumstances.

"My emotions are mixed; I feel happy and joyful, but also a pang of sadness seeing elderly people wandering in the dark without their families."
These were the shared feelings of the members and volunteers of "Warm Humanity Kitchen" during their first meal distribution yesterday. Seeing smiles and receiving the donated items brought happiness and emotion; here, there are elderly people who are frail and have leg pain, yet still persevere in working day and night to earn a living.

With everyone lending a hand, the seamless coordination and focus of the volunteers were like small flames, and soon nutritious meals were prepared and loaded onto delivery vehicles to be delivered to impoverished workers and the homeless.

Home – that simple happiness is a real luxury for many people...
It's often said, "People have many places to go, but only one place to return to. That is HOME." But that simple happiness is a luxury for many... Especially for the homeless! In this bustling city, when night falls, all one sees are the glittering lights, the noisy car horns of rush hour, the hustle and bustle of a workday, but somewhere, in the hidden corners of the city, are lives that break one's heart.

These meals may be small, but they contain a spirit of sharing, and we hope they will be a gift that helps alleviate some of the hardships of their lives.
"Warm Kitchen for Humanity 2022" will continue until April 3rd, 2022. The organizing committee always hopes to receive support from benefactors to bring small joys through meals during the pandemic, contributing to a better life for poor laborers.
