To Trung Hieu - Champion of the 7th Excellent Youth Union Cadre of VNU

Journey from zero

Starting with passion and youthful enthusiasm, Trung Hieu has made constant efforts to transform from an ordinary student into the Secretary of the Youth Union of the Faculty of Sociology for the 2022 - 2024 term, a member of the Executive Committee of the Student Union of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, and now the Champion of the "Outstanding Youth Union - Association Officer" contest 2022.

As soon as he heard that he was in the Top 12 finalists of the "Outstanding Union - Association Officer" contest organized by the Youth Union - Student Association of VNU, Trung Hieu prepared himself with a good spirit and a good competition plan to be ready to show himself to the judges and the audience. The preparation process encountered many difficulties, but that pressure not only did not make it difficult for the young man, but on the contrary, it also helped the contest organizers find a "leader" worthy of the noble title. "No pressure, no diamonds" - that's true.

“Surprised, happy, relieved - these are probably the three words that describe my feelings at that time. Surprised because the results were beyond my imagination, happy because my efforts with my teammates in the support team were well rewarded, and relieved because I finally overcame another "big" challenge in my life" - Trung Hieu shared.

Tireless steps

Volunteering can be said to be this young man's "blood" passion. It is known that "volunteering" is also the topic that Trung Hieu chose to present in the "Talented Leader" competition. For someone who considers volunteering as an action for the community, Hieu spoke out against false concepts and incorrect comments about volunteering. Hieu believes that: "volunteering is not wasting youth or taking advantage of inherent benefits, but volunteering should come from the heart, wanting to give and daring to act". Perhaps that is also the reason why the message "Do volunteering with your heart and create a vision" of the young man touched the sympathetic hearts of the judges.

In addition to activities within the framework of the School or Youth Union activities, Hieu has led the student team in the Faculty to successfully organize many volunteer campaigns that left a mark such as: "Warm Winter - Calling the Sun to the Village", "Warm Spring: Tet - Connecting Love" with a sponsorship amount of up to nearly 40 million VND.

“Because youth never comes back twice”, the days of volunteering, although not long, were enough to leave many impressions on Trung Hieu: “It is not wrong to say that youth is a journey to experience and contribute. We get to try many jobs we have never done before, there are difficulties and hardships, but we never let those difficulties affect our will and spirit.”

Contribution and growth

“That will be the motto, the guiding principle throughout my future journey. Becoming the “leader” of the “Outstanding Union - Association Officer 2022” contest is a great honor, this will certainly be a motivation, one of the solid stepping stones on my journey of dedication” - Hieu shared.
