International exchange journey of students from the Faculty of Linguistics, Vietnamese Language and Vietnamese Studies in Guangxi

From December 9-13, 2025, a delegation of students from the Faculty of Linguistics, Vietnamese Language and Vietnamese Studies - University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, along with their faculty members, participated in an international student exchange program at Guangxi Nationalities Normal University (China). This was a meaningful activity that contributed to promoting educational cooperation, academic exchange, and enhancing mutual understanding between students and faculty of the two universities.

The 5-day, 4-night trip was not merely a formal sightseeing and exchange activity, but truly became a comprehensive journey of learning, experience, and discovery. From the very beginning, the delegation received a warm, thoughtful, and professional welcome from the Guangxi Nationalities Normal University, demonstrating a spirit of cooperation, openness, and goodwill in building a sustainable international exchange relationship.
As part of the program, students from the Faculty of Linguistics, Vietnamese Language, and Vietnamese Studies participated in tours, academic exchanges, and learned about the training and teaching methods at Guangxi Nationalities Normal University. Through direct exchanges with faculty and students from China, the delegation had the opportunity to access educational models, teaching methods, and a multicultural learning environment, thereby broadening their perspective and making comparisons between the Vietnamese and Chinese education systems in the context of international education.

In addition to academic activities, the program dedicates significant time to exploring and experiencing local culture. Students directly participate in traditional crafts, creating products that reflect the unique cultural identity of Guangxi. These experiences are not only hands-on but also help students gain a deeper understanding of the cultural values, history, and traditional values ​​of the local ethnic communities.

A notable highlight of the trip was the awarding of certificates to faculty and students from the Faculty of Linguistics, Vietnamese Language, and Vietnamese Studies for completing the international exchange program and field trip. This is well-deserved recognition for the serious learning spirit, proactive participation, and sense of responsibility of the faculty throughout the journey, and also marks an important milestone in the accumulation of academic experience and international integration for each individual.

During their journey to explore Guangxi culture, the group visited the Zhuang Ethnic Museum, which vividly preserves and recreates the culture, traditions, origins, and historical traces of the ethnic communities living in this region. Through the system of artifacts, documents, and exhibition spaces, students have the opportunity to visually access the depth of cultural and historical information, thereby enhancing their awareness of cultural diversity and heritage values ​​in the region.

The program also included a visit to the National High School affiliated with Guangxi Normal University. There, students directly observed AI-assisted classroom teaching, watched how teachers applied technology to organize lessons, support students, and enhance classroom interaction. In addition, the group toured facilities such as classrooms, the library, the auditorium, and the campus. These practical experiences provided students with a vivid understanding of the model of general education combined with teacher training in the context of digital transformation, contributing to their future career orientation.

Another highlight of the program is the visit to CAMEX – the China-ASEAN Commodity Exchange. Here, students experience and learn about typical products from 11 Southeast Asian countries, while also encountering distinctive products from Nanning, Guangxi, China. This activity not only helps students broaden their understanding of regional economic and trade exchanges but also contributes to raising awareness of the connection between language, culture, and international economic integration.

Concluding the journey, the exchange program at Guangxi Nationalities Normal University left a deep impression and unforgettable experiences for each participant. Beyond providing valuable academic insights and rich cultural understanding, the program also contributed to fostering intercultural communication skills, an integrated mindset, and international confidence among students of the Linguistics, Vietnamese Language, and Vietnamese Studies departments.
This is not just a learning and experiential trip, but also a journey to connect knowledge, spread the spirit of cooperation, and open up new opportunities for international exchange and cooperation in the future. The values ​​gained from this trip will continue to accompany students on their path of learning, research, and contributing to the community in the context of increasingly globalized education.
