University of Social Sciences and Humanities - VNU Hanoi

Beyond classroom learning of Vietnamese, international students at the Faculty of Linguistics and Vietnamese Studies, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, also have the opportunity to directly explore Vietnamese culture through intimate and emotionally rich experiences. From familiar Vietnamese dishes to the Quan Ho folk songs of Bac Ninh, each activity offers a unique approach for international students to better understand the country, its people, and its identity.

In addition to academic and research activities, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU Hanoi, focuses on building a comprehensive educational environment through 30 student clubs, teams, and groups in various fields. These are spaces for students to hone their skills, pursue their passions, expand their networks, and gain practical experience.

(People's Daily) Duong Ngo Minh Duc impressed everyone by being directly admitted to the Literature major (major code QHX26) at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities - Vietnam National University, Hanoi. Besides winning third prize in Literature at the National Excellent Student Selection Exam, Duc achieved an IELTS score of 8.0. For this male student, foreign languages ​​are not only a supplementary skill for studying Literature but also open up a broader world of knowledge.

From August 22nd to 28th, 2026, new students of the QH-2026-X cohort of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU-USSH, participated in the Integration Week with the theme "Homeland in our hearts, aspirations on our shoulders," marking the beginning of a series of programs to help them familiarize themselves with the learning, training, and research environment at VNU-USSH.

From August 15-19, 2026, a delegation of 5 representatives from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, participated in the "Red Journey for Youth Research and Study - Study Camp Following in the Footsteps of President Ho Chi Minh" program with the theme "Vietnamese and Chinese Youth: Pursuing Revolutionary Ideals - Joining Hands to Build the Future" in Guangxi, China.

Today, August 20, 2026, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU Hanoi, held a ceremony to welcome new students of cohort K71 to complete their enrollment procedures. From early morning, the campus was bustling with the presence of new students and their families, marking the beginning of their academic and personal journey at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.

From August 10th to 16th, 2026, students from Kyoto Sangyo University (KSU) and students from the Japanese Studies department, Faculty of Oriental Studies, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU-USSH) participated in a field trip, exchange program, and research visit to Mai Phu commune, Ha Tinh province.

To carry out the tasks of welcoming new students of cohort K71 and organizing the "Integration Week - Civic Activities for Students," the University announces the schedule of initial activities for students of cohort QH-2026-X as follows:

As part of the 2026 Comprehensive Internship Program, 100 students from the K69 Hotel Management program, Faculty of Tourism Studies, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, gained practical experience in Nha Trang, Da Lat, and Buon Ma Thuot. The trip included sightseeing, surveys, seminars, and exchanges with the university and businesses, helping students connect their specialized knowledge with practice, broadening their perspectives on the tourism and hospitality industry.

The SETY Camp 2026, organized by the Institute for Policy, Innovation and Interdisciplinary Science, Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, with funding from the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation Southeast Asia - Hanoi Representative Office, was held from July 26th to 31st, 2026 in Phu Tho province. With the theme “Ideas and Solutions for Socio-Ecological Transformation in Southeast Asia from a Youth Perspective,” the program attracted 29 participants along with experts, scientists, and lecturers from various fields.

As part of an international cooperation program, a delegation of students from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, participated in a 14-day study and cultural exchange program (from July 19th to August 1st, 2026) in Nanning, Guangxi. The program not only provided opportunities for practical learning and cultural experience but also promoted educational cooperation between the university and educational institutions in China.

The program took place from July 22 to 28, 2026 at Guangxi University, Nanning, China, with the participation of nearly 80 students from universities in Vietnam, China, and ASEAN countries.

From July 13th to 26th, 2026, two students from the Faculty of Tourism Studies, Nguyen Vu Thanh Huyen (K69 Tourism and Travel Service Management) and Tong Gia Linh (K70 Hotel Management), participated in the Cultural Heritage Tourism & Communication Summer Program 2026 organized by the School of Tourism Management, Sun Yat-sen University (China).
