University of Social Sciences and Humanities - VNU Hanoi

The scholarship awarding ceremony, organized by Tien Phong newspaper, took place in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City on January 8, 2025.

(SVO) Traveling halfway around the world to Vietnam, Daniela and Yaniel (Vietnamese names: Lan and Tuan) not only faced culture shock but also had some hilarious and awkward experiences while learning Vietnamese. From complete strangers, they gradually became expert drivers on the streets of Hanoi and quickly adapted to the lifestyle of Vietnamese youth.

The year 2025 marks a period of great effort and breakthroughs for the youth of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU Hanoi, in teaching, scientific research, learning, training, and emulation movements. To acknowledge and honor these achievements, on December 25, 2025, the University will solemnly organize the Ceremony to Commend Outstanding Young People at the grassroots level in 2025.

From December 9-13, 2025, a delegation of students from the Faculty of Linguistics, Vietnamese Language and Vietnamese Studies - University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, along with their faculty members, participated in an international student exchange program at Guangxi Nationalities Normal University (China). This was a meaningful activity that contributed to promoting educational cooperation, academic exchange, and enhancing mutual understanding between students and faculty of the two universities.

GD&TĐ - On December 21st, the "International Cultural Festival 2025 – Global Festival" took place at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities - VNU Hanoi.

During their university studies, there are certain courses considered "hurdles" that almost every student faces – these are the general education courses. With a large volume of knowledge, high academic standards, and a relatively new approach, many students, especially first and second-year students, experience significant pressure and confusion during their studies and exam preparation.

On December 18, 2025, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, held the Parent-Teacher Conference for the 2025-2029 cohort, marking the first time the university implemented a direct dialogue model between the university leadership and parents. The conference not only provided information about educational activities but also clearly demonstrated the university's commitment to building a close collaborative relationship between the university and families in supporting students' proactive learning and development.

Responding to an invitation from the Faculty of Humanities, Airlangga University, a group of students from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (VNU-Hanoi) specializing in World History, Cultural Studies (Faculty of History), and Southeast Asian Studies (Faculty of Oriental Studies) undertook an internship and academic exchange in Indonesia from November 25th to December 2nd, 2025. This activity is part of the university's strategy to strengthen international cooperation and expand practical experience for students in the context of globalized education.

Sponsored by the Toshiba International Foundation (TIFO), from December 9-13, 2025, a delegation of 14 Japanese Studies students, along with their supervisor, Dr. Nguyen Phuong Thuy, and PhD candidate Nguyen Thi Thuy Ngan, were present in Vientiane, Laos, to attend the 9th International Conference organized by the Japan Studies Association of Southeast Asia (JSA).

As part of the Vietnam-Korea Youth Cultural Exchange Program on Zen Buddhism and the East Asian Youth Cultural Exchange Day on Zen Buddhism in Vietnam in 2025, on the morning of November 7, 2025, a delegation from the MOONSOO Youth Association (Korea) visited the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.

Within the framework of the "Vietnam-Korea Youth Cultural Exchange Program on Zen Meditation and the East Asian Youth Cultural Exchange Day on Zen Meditation 2025," students from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (USSH) participated in many meaningful activities with Korean students.

This morning, October 31, 2025, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, solemnly held the 3rd Graduation Ceremony of 2025, marking a memorable milestone in the learning, training, and growth journey of more than 330 new graduates, including 314 students from majors 1 and 16 students from majors 2.

On the evening of October 13, 2025, the talk show “Digital Humanities Talk: When Technology Meets Humanities” was successfully held in the auditorium on the 8th floor of Building E – Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi. The program, organized by the Standing Committee of the Youth Union of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, aimed to create an open academic space, connect knowledge between technology and humanities, and disseminate understanding and inspire creative thinking in the digital age.

The days spent studying at Hola - the Center for National Defense and Security Education, VNU Hanoi, will probably be an unforgettable time for us students of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.
