The Faculty of Oriental Studies won first prize in the student research team category for the 2018-2019 academic year.

This year's university-wide scientific research project (NCKHSV) features 723 scientific reports by 982 students. The student participation rate in scientific research this year accounts for 16% of the total student population. Compared to the 2017-2018 academic year, the number of students participating in scientific research increased by 16%, and the number of research topics increased by 15%.

Speaking at the Conference, Professor Nguyen Van Kim (Party Secretary, Vice Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities) remarked: The Student Scientific Research Conference is the concluding activity of a very diverse and rich series of scientific research events of the University in recent times. With a spirit of innovation, this year's student scientific research season of the University was launched very early. Immediately after the conclusion of the 2018 student scientific research event, the University launched the 2019 student scientific research activities. This allowed individuals and groups of authors more time to prepare, define, and invest more thoroughly in their research projects. The University acknowledges that the units within the university have shown creativity in student scientific research activities that are appropriate to the characteristics of training. The results obtained at today's Conference are the fruit of the enthusiasm, creativity, and scientific spirit of students throughout the university.

This year's student scientific reports were judged to demonstrate not only diversity in topic selection but also in their innovative approaches to problem-solving. Building on a solid theoretical foundation, students used theoretical knowledge to examine events, objects, and phenomena in social life, explaining and identifying the laws governing objective reality; and initially proposing appropriate solutions and recommendations. Many works demonstrated novelty and high practical applicability, with many directly related to student life, such as the group of works awarded the Green Torch prize.

To ensure accuracy and efficiency in the evaluation and assessment of research results, the Conference was divided into four subcommittees with judging panels consisting of experts relevant to the research fields addressed. Each author or group of authors presented their research results, after which they received feedback and critiques from the panel and the participating students.

Student research projects provide students with opportunities to practice and hone their research skills, as well as learn to think and work independently. This is a chance for students to demonstrate their individual abilities, practice "learning by doing," apply theories from various disciplines to explain different aspects of social life, and apply them to practical learning and work activities.

In summary, the Conference awarded one First Prize, two Second Prizes, and three Third Prizes to the winning teams in student scientific research activities in 2018-2019:
