This year, the school's student research has 723 scientific reports conducted by 982 students. The proportion of students participating in scientific research this year accounts for 16% of the total number of students in the school. Compared to the 2017-2018 school year, the number of students participating in scientific research increased by 16%, the number of topics increased by 15%.

Speaking at the Conference, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Kim (Party Secretary, Vice Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities) commented: The Student Scientific Research Conference is an activity that concludes a series of diverse and rich events on scientific research of the University in the past time. With the spirit of innovation, this year's student scientific research season of the University was implemented very early. Immediately after the end of the 2018 student scientific research event, the University launched the 2019 student scientific research activities. This helps individuals and groups of authors have time to prepare, shape, and invest more carefully in their research works. The University recognizes that the units in the University have had innovations that are suitable to the training characteristics in student scientific research activities. The results obtained at today's Conference are the result of enthusiasm, creativity, and scientific spirit among students of the whole University.

This year's student scientific reports are assessed to not only demonstrate diversity in topic selection but also demonstrate exploration in the way of approaching the problem. From a solid theoretical foundation, students have used theoretical knowledge to reflect on events, objects, and phenomena in social life to explain and find out the laws governing objective reality; initially proposing appropriate solutions and recommendations. Many works are novel and highly applicable in practice, including many works directly related to student life such as the group of works awarded the Green Torch Award.

To ensure accuracy and efficiency in the evaluation and assessment of research results, the Conference was divided into 4 subcommittees with the Jury being experts appropriate to the field group that the research work mentioned. Each author and group of authors presented their research results, then received comments and criticism from the council and students participating in the Conference.

Student scientific research is an opportunity for students to practice and improve their ability to explore and research, as well as learn how to think and work independently. This is an opportunity for students to demonstrate their personal abilities, practice “learning by doing”, apply theories of different fields of study to explain different areas of social life, and apply them to practical learning and working activities.
