Thousands of humanities students returned to the lecture halls on March 2, 2020, after an unprecedentedly long Tet holiday. But behind the masks, their eyes were filled with joy.

While the COVID-19 pandemic is unfolding globally, the most common sight right now is medical masks. Throughout the campus, faculty and students wear masks to protect themselves.

Responding to a question about attending classes during the pandemic while many other universities across the country have given students time off and are implementing online teaching (E-learning), Can Thi Ngoc My, a K63 student, shared her candid thoughts.

Ngoc My believes that Vietnam is currently controlling the Covid-19 pandemic very well, so although she still has some worries, she feels somewhat reassured. In addition, the school's disinfection of the entire campus yesterday (March 1st), the provision of hand sanitizer in classrooms, and the recommendations for lecturers and students to protect themselves have made her even more confident about returning to class. "I'm worried, but the school is definitely more worried than me!" Ngoc My added.

Instead of worrying, Chu Thi Phuong Thu, a student from cohort K64, was very excited to return to class because she believed the school had been very thoughtful and proactive in preventing the spread of the disease. "I just want to go back to school; I'm not worried at all. Going to school means seeing my friends and teachers again, because staying home all the time is so boring," Phuong Thu excitedly shared on her way to class.

On March 1, 2020, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities organized a thorough cleaning and disinfection of the campus to sanitize the learning and working spaces for faculty and students. In addition, each lecture hall was equipped with a bottle of hand sanitizer to help faculty and students protect themselves from the Covid-19 pandemic caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus, which is currently raging worldwide.

Rector Professor Pham Quang Minh stated that the school has and will continue to dedicate all resources to ensuring the highest level of safety for faculty and students when teaching and learning activities resume from today.
