USSH Master Tea Club No. 14: “How to Create Your Presentation?”

The event was organized under the coordination of familiar guest: Etienne Mahler, he is currently a German PhD student studying and working at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities - VNU. This is a useful sharing session, aiming to bring students experiences to have an impressive and effective presentation. In addition, students are also introduced to some techniques in designing and using Powerpoint for presentations.

Presentation is no longer a strange activity for students, but many students have lost confidence when standing up to present, only knowing how to read from the paper, their voice trembling. Putting yourself in the situation of the listener, you will feel bored, even not seeing the value of the presentation.

The goal of this sharing session is to help students:

- Understand the role and importance of good presentation as well as the fundamental factors that affect the results of effective presentation;

- Know how to apply effective tools, instruments or methods to optimally control the presentation process, organize meetings and presentations;

- Know how to be proactive, control, and lead listeners towards a common goal, grasp the principles, and know how to handle the most complex situations during presentations or meetings.

Under the guidance of Mr. Etienne Mahler, the students had active discussions about creating an impressive and effective presentation. They listened and analyzed issues such as: common mistakes when presenting; points to note to attract listeners, make them pay attention to your presentation; how to have an impressive presentation; how to relieve stress and be more confident when presenting. In addition, the students also had the opportunity to be introduced by the guest speaker about impressive and effective ways of presenting and designing Powerpoint to serve the presentation.

In particular, this is also a good opportunity for students to improve their ability to use English in communication and especially in using English to present a certain issue in front of a crowd.

“How to Create Your Presentation?” is a useful event in a series of activities that USSH Master's Tea Club plans to organize to support students in equipping and improving the necessary skills for self-development and serving learning and research activities. In the upcoming 2019-2020 school year, USSH Master's Tea Club will continue to organize more English, skills, and exchange activities, as well as other useful events.
