The contest is a highlight within the framework of the Vietnam Science and Technology Book Exhibition 2025, celebrating Vietnam Science and Technology Day on May 18. The event attracted 08 teams from 07 universities and 01 high school in Hanoi, with the goal of spreading the love of science and promoting innovation among the young generation. Representing the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, the team of students from the Faculty of Information and Library Science left a strong impression with the “Inspiring Story” contest, honoring the young scientist Dr. Nguyen Van Son, lecturer at the University of Technology, VNU. The story not only honored a typical scientific model but also demonstrated the team’s profound humanistic perspective on the ideal of serving the community through knowledge. According to the rules, each team has 7 minutes to present and 5 minutes to debate, revolving around the criteria: inspirational content, practicality - creativity, scientific thinking, presentation skills and social influence. The team from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities completely convinced the judges with a coherent presentation, sincere emotions and impressive teamwork ability.
As students of knowledge organization and science communication, the members demonstrated their ability to connect researchers and the public. The competition was not simply about storytelling, but rather an inspirational journey that brought science from the laboratory to life through a close, humane lens. This victory is a worthy achievement for the creative efforts of students, and at the same time reflects the correct training orientation of the School: promoting interdisciplinary, integrating social sciences and humanities with technology in the context of digital transformation.
The contest is an opportunity to honor young people who appreciate knowledge, are responsible for society, and know how to spread science with their hearts. The team from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities truly shined with their academic courage, humanistic thinking, and deep integration spirit. The story of Dr. Nguyen Van Son not only inspires young people, but also affirms that Vietnamese science can completely reach out to the world, if led by passion, courage, and belief. The competition has ended, but the journey of spreading knowledge to young students continues – quietly, persistently and hopefully.
