On December 1, 2025, at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU-USSH), the GO-GN Asia Pacific Conference took place as a special academic space where policymakers, scholars, and educational practitioners analyzed the significant transformations of the Open Education movement in Vietnam in relation to the regional and global context.

The official issuance of the AI ​​Competency Framework for learners by the University in November 2025 is a strong affirmation that VNU-USSH is entering the AI ​​era with its own unique identity: humane, responsible, and oriented towards the sustainable development of society.

These were the topics discussed at the scientific workshop on developing Artificial Intelligence (AI) capabilities for learners, held at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi this morning, October 28, 2025, in collaboration with Meta Group, the Vietnam Association for Scientific and Technological Information, and One World Magazine.

In the context of artificial intelligence (AI) reshaping all aspects of social life, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU-USSH) and Meta Group have collaborated on a project to enhance the AI ​​application capacity of lecturers and students in the following areas: understanding, evaluating, and using AI safely and responsibly. This project has yielded many outstanding results, contributing to the foundation for promoting the widespread application of AI in higher education.

This morning, October 8, 2025, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, in collaboration with the Vietnam Association for Scientific and Technological Information, the National Library of Vietnam, One World Magazine, and Meta Group, organized a training course on "Artificial Intelligence for Information and Library Professionals".

On October 1st, 2025, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, officially announced the Artificial Intelligence (AI) Competency Framework for students. This is considered the first comprehensive AI competency framework in Vietnam for higher education.

In the context of higher education undergoing a strong transformation in the face of the digital transformation wave, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, continues to affirm its pioneering role by becoming one of six higher education institutions nationwide participating in the development and compilation of learning materials for the "Digital Literacy Program" - a program to popularize digital skills for students across the country.

The 2nd Regional Conference of the “Digital Skills To Succeed” (DS2S) Network, held from September 2-5, 2025 in Leipzig, Germany, brought together over 160 delegates from leading universities, international organizations, and technology companies to discuss the future of education in the digital age. The program focused on three main pillars: networking, university-business collaboration, and innovation in teaching and learning methods. The conference was organized by the German International Cooperation Organization (GIZ) in collaboration with Leipzig University, with support from the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).

A scientific conference on the theme "The Role of Scientific and Technological Information in Socio-Economic Development" was held at the Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City on August 29, 2025, with the participation of nearly 500 delegates including leaders, scientists, experts, businesses, and students, aiming to clarify the strategic role of scientific and technological information in the digital age and artificial intelligence.

From August 20-22, 2025, the International Conference on Information Science, Library and Publishing - ICLISSP2025 was held at the International Center for Interdisciplinary Science and Education (ICISE), Quy Nhon (Gia Lai). The event brought together over 150 delegates, including scientists, policymakers, managers, researchers, and postgraduate students from 11 countries and territories. The Vietnam University of Social Sciences and Humanities provided AI training for librarians at this conference.

To support lecturers, researchers, teachers, and those involved in training and developing their AI application skills, the Faculty of Information and Library Science, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, is pleased to introduce the short-term training program: “Breakthroughs with AI in Teaching and Research”.

From July 28th to August 1st, 2025, 81 students from the Information Management and Information-Library Science majors officially began their intensive internship and practical training in Quang Ninh province as part of the second semester's coursework plan for the 2024-2025 academic year. This is an important annual activity in the training program, helping students gain practical professional experience while fostering a connection between knowledge, practice, and people in the two majors.
