University of Social Sciences and Humanities - VNU Hanoi

On December 9, 2011, a scientific seminar on the topic "Solutions for linking training and the labor market in Vietnam" was held. Attendees included education administrators from the National Assembly's Committee on Culture and Education, the Ministry of Education and Training, universities, institutes, and research centers. Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Kim, Vice Rector of the University, attended and delivered the opening remarks.

On December 4th and 5th, 2011, the 3rd International Scientific Conference on Vietnamese Studies (“Engaging with Vietnam: An Interdisciplinary Dialogue”) was held at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. This conference was co-organized by the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (Vietnam National University, Hanoi) and Monash University (Australia).

On November 30, 2011, at the Ho Chi Minh City Writers' Association hall, the Standing Committee of the City Writers' Association, the Culture and Arts Publishing House, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, and the Ca Lê family held a cordial gathering to introduce the diary of Lê Anh Xuân. Attendees included representatives from the Propaganda Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, leaders and staff of the Ben Tre Museum (where the original copy of the diary is kept), leaders and reporters from various newspapers and television stations, and a number of writers and friends who had worked and fought alongside Lê Anh Xuân.

The annual dialogue between the university leadership and students of all cohorts was held on November 27, 2011. Attendees included representatives from the Board of Directors, heads of functional departments, faculties, the Youth Union, and the Student Association. Many questions were compiled, and dozens were directly raised in the meeting hall. The university leadership listened, discussed, and answered these questions directly with the students.

A scientific workshop on the theme "The Impact of Urbanization on Rural Development: Practices and Lessons Learned" was held on November 30th. The workshop was part of the independent state-level research project "The Impact of Urbanization on Rural Development in the Period 2011-2020," led by Associate Professor Dr. Hoang Ba Thinh.

The University of Social Sciences and Humanities (Vietnam National University, Hanoi) announces the results of the second round of postgraduate admissions review for 2011.

In the final days of 1964, a history lecturer from Hanoi University, along with a delegation of officials from the cultural, educational, medical, and film sectors, set off for the South. Among the civilian cadres who went to the South that year, he was one of the intellectuals who volunteered to take up arms, but he didn't have to "put aside his pen and ink." His backpack was heavy with textbooks and scholarly works. He set off as an educator and historian, joining the experts in the delegation to undertake a common responsibility: developing education in the liberated areas and building a faculty for a university being prepared for establishment in the base of the National Liberation Front of South Vietnam. Many recognized him. It was Ca Lê Hiến – the author of the poem "Remembering the Rain of My Homeland," which won second prize in the Văn Nghệ newspaper's poetry competition in 1960.

On November 26th, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and the Institute of Legislative Studies under the Standing Committee of the National Assembly signed a cooperation agreement. Attending the signing ceremony were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Kim – Vice Rector of the University, Dr. Hoang Van Tu – Deputy Director of the Institute of Legislative Studies, leaders of the Center for Policy Research and Analysis, representatives of the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation, and leaders of various functional departments.
