On the morning of April 2nd, 2011, the first Academic Advisor Skills Competition officially opened. Immediately following the opening ceremony was the first round, titled "Accompanying," with the participation of 61 academic advisors.
On the morning of April 2nd, 2011, the first Academic Advisor Skills Competition officially opened. Immediately following the opening ceremony was the first round, titled "Accompanying," with the participation of 61 academic advisors.In his opening remarks at the competition, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vu Duc Nghieu (Vice Rector) highly appreciated the role and position of academic advisors in the current training method. The Vice Rector particularly emphasized: “The task of academic advising is not the responsibility of any one lecturer but a shared responsibility of all lecturers in the university.” Representing the academic advisors, Ms. Bui Thanh Thuy (Faculty of Information and Library Science) spoke and expressed her hope that academic advisors would share and exchange experiences and find solutions to minimize the time spent on academic advising while achieving the best results. She also stressed the need for practical solutions to help students understand the training regulations, alongside organizing the academic advising competition. The "Accompanying" round focuses on regulations in the training program, procedures for advising students on course registration, major selection, and how to develop a study plan. This round consists of a 40-question multiple-choice test and an essay test, with a total time of 100 minutes. The results of the first round will be announced on April 7th. After the first round, the 8 teams with the highest scores will proceed to the "Responsibility" round.
